BK Authors’ Post

We had a wonderful session on authentic social media yesterday with Corey Perlman, of Impact Social Media! Some of his key takeaways: -“Be yourself. Everyone else is taken.” Your digital brand should be an authentic reflection of who you are. -Never tell yourself, “That won’t work on social.” There is a market/niche/audience/corner for everything and everyone, even nerdy introspective engineers. You will connect better, and you can sustain your energy more, if you are authentic to yourself. -Beware of the “Shiny Penny Syndrome.” Focus on a few things and do them really well. Don’t spread yourself out over many platforms. -HOWEVER, the algorithms favor the bold. Minimize the platforms you use, but maximize their latest features so that the algorithm prioritizes your content. -To save time and effort, capture instead of create content. Use regular work activities (trips, events, interviews, etc.) to capture some organic content. Ask yourself, “What’s going on in the next two months that I can easily convert into content?” -Never forget that you're easily forgettable. Add value to your audience often. “Create consistent and compelling content.” -”Never doubt the power of a digital high-five!” Invest time into commenting on and engaging with the posts of decision-makers in your target audience. -Let your customers do the talking. “Never let a verbal comment go unpublished.” #socialmedia #socialmediamarketing #socialmediacontent #bookmarketing #bookpublicity

I'm not sure I ever heard a more complete conversation about social media. Pages of simple, easy to implement ideas. Well done Corey Perlman, CSP (Certified Speaking Professional)!
