https://lnkd.in/dwnuAb3W Let's talk about diversity, equity and inclusion. Why DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) matters? A few weeks ago, I had the great opportunity to interview to Miss Mela Habijan, IE Business School dual degree in MBA and Master in creative direction, content and branding candidate. The story of Miss Mela is really inspiring: Entrepreneur, writer, TV presenter, content creator and Miss trans Global, but more than that, a great person with a purpose in life. In this video interview we talk about the Social Sphere of Sustainability, specially about any type of discrimination (gender, sexual orientation, race, religious beliefs, age, national origin, etc.), together with some best practices of companies practicing DEI: "Unilever and Virgin Airlines". At the same time, we talk about the role of Governments, Companies, Citizens, NGOs and foundations and Academia to spread the seed of the importance of the social sphere of sustainability. Some other interesting concepts inside the video: definition of gender gap, glass ceiling, meaning of the acronym LGTBQIA+, what allies can do for any type of community suffering discrimination,.... My deepest gratitude to Miss Mela Habijan for her generosity and collaboration not only preparing this interview, but also editing the video to add some multimedia material to make it understandable and of addition of value for viewers. I hope you like the video and can learn and catch some ideas to promote DEI inside your organizations and daily life and behavior. I always have this mantra: When talking about sustainability, every single action counts! Be an ally of any type of community suffering discrimination and speak out when you identify any discrimination!

Prioritizing inclusive messaging and engagements in a climate where diversity efforts are under attack is delicate, important work. Last week I held a strategy session with one client and a workshop with the leaders of another organization on upholding corporate social responsibility values, messaging and developing frameworks for campaigns and partnerships that enhance the company’s spirit. Don’t be deterred by attacks on diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging! #DEIB #diversity #equity #inclusion #belonging #corporatevalues #socialresponsibility #publicrelations #messaging #strategicpartnerships

It's unfortunately common to see discrepancies between what companies espouse publicly and what they practice internally. Sometimes, this misalignment occurs due to various factors such as organizational culture, unconscious biases, or simply the complexities of implementing policies consistently across different departments or regions. Addressing this issue often requires a multi-faceted approach. Firstly, it's crucial for companies to regularly review and audit their internal policies and practices to ensure they align with their stated values of equality and fairness. Additionally, fostering a culture of openness and transparency where employees feel comfortable raising concerns about any perceived disparities can help identify and address issues early on. #organisations #organisationalculture #equality #biases

🌟 **Equity: Empowering Diversity and Inclusion** 🌟 ✨ Equity is not just a buzzword – it's a fundamental principle that drives diversity and inclusion in our organizations and society as a whole. It's about creating a level playing field where everyone has the opportunity to thrive and succeed. Let's strive for equity, not just equality, to truly embrace the richness of diversity. 🔹 Equity is giving everyone what they need to be successful, not just the same opportunities. Let's acknowledge and address the unequal starting points that exist due to systemic barriers and historical injustices. 🔸 It's important to actively listen to underrepresented voices and understand their unique experiences and perspectives. Only then can we create an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and empowered. 🔹 Equity benefits us all – it cultivates innovation, drives better decision-making, and fosters a culture of respect and belonging. Embracing equity is not just a moral imperative; it's also a strategic advantage in a globalized world. 🔸 Let's commit to dismantling barriers and biases that hinder equity and work towards building a more inclusive and equitable future for all. Together, we can create a world where diversity is celebrated, and everyone has the opportunity to shine. #EquityMatters #DiversityandInclusion #EmpowerChange 🌎🤝

Title: DE👀 Needs Fresh Eyes Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE👀) was created to foster fairness, belonging, and opportunity for everyone. Its focus on addressing systemic inequities has always been essential. Over time, though, DE👀 became closely associated with race, particularly Blackness—a focus that was both necessary and overdue. Yet, as this focus narrowed, it unintentionally left others feeling disconnected from its broader mission. It’s time to recalibrate—not to dilute the work but to expand its reach. True equity means creating spaces where all voices are valued, while keeping attention on the areas where inequities persist. This isn’t about stepping back or softening the message; it’s about evolving to ensure DE👀 resonates with everyone, making the work stronger and more sustainable. I’m asking: • How do we expand DE👀’s focus without losing sight of its core purpose? • What strategies have worked for you to make this work inclusive, engaging, and impactful? The door is open. Now it’s time to push it wider and fulfill the promise DE👀 was always meant to deliver. #Leadership #WorkplaceCulture #OrganizationalDevelopment #FutureOfWork #EmployeeEngagement #TalentDevelopment #InclusiveLeadership #WorkplaceInnovation #SustainableWorkplaces #PeopleFirst #HRCommunity #InnovationAtWork #SocialImpact #EquityForAll #CollaborationMatters #GrowthMindset #DiversityAtWork #WomenInLeadership #WomenEmpoweringWomen #WomenInBusiness #WomenAtWork #FemaleLeadership #EmpoweredWomen #WomenSupportingWomen #InclusiveWorkplaces #EquityForWomen #BreakingBarriers #WomenAndDiversity #WomenInclusion #GenderEquity #WomenWhoLead #LeadingWithPurpose #WomenProfessionals #CareerWomen #LeadershipForWomen #BIPOC #DEI
