Interesting article that helps us understand how we cannot separate the human element in design. Maybe someone can make a map of well-designed roads. #transportation, #traffic, #civilengineering https://lnkd.in/epauNiT8

Our daily routines and our economy are dependent on infrastructure such as roads and bridges. The collapse of a bridge can disrupt commuters and slow delivery of goods and services, resulting in a chain of other problems. The titles in this collection explore safety issues in design of bridges and provide guidance for bridge design and construction. https://ow.ly/FS6Q50R6vyZ

According to a report from the American Road & Transportation Builders Association, one in three bridges in the U.S. needs repair or replacement. We partner with agencies nationwide to ensure local bridges are safe and dependable for generations to come. The Vermont Agency of Transportation selected us as the Prime Consultant for Phase 1 design services to rehabilitate nine bridge structures along the Green Mountain Railroad in southern Vermont. Throughout the project, we will look to minimize impacts on rail operations and local cultural or environmental factors. This includes examining innovative bridge replacement options and Accelerated Bridge Construction techniques to reduce onsite construction while considering ease of maintenance and the region’s extreme weather.
