We can adopt the principles of agroecology. We can turn the story around and adapt our agriculture to the land, rather than the other way around. #agroecology #genuinefauxfarm https://lnkd.in/giXvCZrj

Very exciting scientific innovation: a biosensor that can listen to plants electrophysiologically "shouting" when they are attacked by nematodes. Machine learning makes it possible to real-time understand the signals and the vast amount of data sent by plants under attack or cured by nematicides like TYMIRIUM™.
Transparent and tiny, roundworms are an “invisible threat” living in all agricultural soils. Attacking crops like corn, potatoes and soybeans, plant-parasitic nematodes can slash yields by more than half – and by the time farmers have spotted them, it’s already too late. So a breakthrough that allows us to “listen” to a plant during a nematode attack for the first time means we can better help farmers keep their crops safe. Discover our groundbreaking research, in collaboration with Vivent Biosignals, recently published in the Journal of Pest Science: https://lnkd.in/eYAzFnZA #Agriculture #Innovation

The nitrogen fixation benefits that come from growing pulse crops are no secret, however a Victorian field trial is looking to delve deeper into the topic, aiming to put some numbers around the legacy effects which eventuate. While it is still too early to determine the legacy effects of various management decisions, there have been a number of significant findings from the 2023 growing season. Find out more: https://lnkd.in/g3tJ8MKj
