What is the difference between a Project Manager and a Production Supervisor?
Sometimes these two roles in industry tend to be confused by somebody who is not familiar with them.
In a nutshell, both project managers and production supervisors have significant roles in ensuring organizational success, but their responsibilities are distinct.
Production supervisors are responsible for overseeing production facility operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety while project managers focus on managing specific projects that achieve defined objectives.
In other terms, once the project is defined, and planned, and all resources are in place by the project manager, the production supervisor takes the ball and makes sure that all the daily activities are aligned with the final aim of the project.
