During a recent trip to Bhutan, I had the privilege of visiting Punakha Dzong and came across a stunning mural depicting the folklore of "The Four Harmonious Friends." The story is a beautiful reminder of how collaboration makes a true difference and adds value. The mural shows four animals working together: 🦅 The Bird – perched high in the tree, plucking fruits. 🐇 The Rabbit – digging the soil to prepare for planting. 🐒 The Monkey – planting seeds and carefully covering them. 🐘 The Elephant – watering the soil and standing guard to protect the sapling. The past few weeks have been very fulfilling as I've embarked on a new journey with the remarkable team at Carma | B-Corp, facilitating planting days for various clients. The experience has been nothing short of amazing. Today I completed a hedgerow on my own. During the few hours of solitude I found it to be both rewarding and enlightening in several ways: - Amidst the hustle of a new role, reconnecting with nature through solo planting proved to be a cathartic experience. - As a veteran who has navigated through periods of depression and anxiety, having the space to contemplate, reflect, and evaluate was invaluable. - While planting alone offered its own set of benefits, it reaffirmed the significance of teamwork, emphasizing the value of collective effort. - The collaborative planting sessions with clients underscore the value of teamwork, personal growth, and group harmony. - Witnessing each group depart after a day's planting in the autumn sun ( I've not been rained on yet and the sun has shone each time, but I can't guarantee that will continue!) has left me inspired. - Every individual departed with a positive aura, brimming with energy and sporting radiant smiles, having achieved more than they initially imagined.
