Thursday Teacher Tip: Make Transitions Fun with a Hand Drum! 🩵 Struggling to keep kids engaged during transitions? A simple hand drum can work wonders! Here’s how: 🌟 1. Cue Cleanup Time Skip repeated verbal reminders—just play the drum! Kids will hear the beat, start cleaning up, and naturally join you on the rug. 🌟 2. Add Movement and Fun When kids gather, let them clap, pat, or dance to the rhythm. Then challenge them to “freeze” when you stop and move to the beat when you play again. 🌟 3. Signal Relaxation Use soft finger flutters on the drum to cue sitting down and calming the energy. A hand drum turns tricky transitions into musical moments of self-regulation, engagement, and community building.
