Thank you to everyone who supported my fundraising campaign for the Bridge to Brisbane today! What an incredible event! Feeling a little stiff and sore - but it was totally worth it to raise money for a great cause. My reflection: - The end goal seems like a long way when your at the start line. - Celebrate every milestone along the way. - If you need to slow down it’s ok, have a breather and get back into it. - Don’t give up! - Share the wins with your loved ones. - Do it for a purpose. - Have FUN! - Set micro goals to achieve a bigger goal. - Don’t worry about what everyone else is doing, run your own race. - It will all be worth it when you finish and look back. - Think about how you can improve next time. Winning in business is great because when companies win, people thrive and grow. There are more jobs and more opportunities everywhere and for everyone. People feel upbeat about the future; they have the resources to send their kids to college, get better health care, buy vacation homes, and secure a comfortable retirement. And winning affords them the opportunity to give back to society in hugely important ways beyond just paying more taxes-they can donate time and money to charities and mentor in inner-city schools, to name just two. A big thankyou to ASN Collectibles, Angel & Co and their generous patron who collaborated on the sale of a collectable item donating the proceeds to the Bardsley Youth Project. Your donation is going towards the Nourish Connect Support Initiative supporting young people in Coventry facing the difficult choice between heating and eating this winter.   The young person's warm space was born out of the need we saw in our client group. The Young People we serve are often disproportionately affected by cost of living rises. They are usually on lower wages, lower benefits and at a higher likelihood of being on zero-hour contracts than those over the age of 25. They also face barriers to accessing typical warm space environments, for example, feeling anxiety about not being around peers, and fearing the prejudice that unfortunately commonly accompanies the stereotype of ‘youth. Our warm space aims to lessen some of the difficult choices young people have to make, ultimately trying to prevent the likelihood of circumstances culminating in youth homelessness.
