"Armagnac: The Secret Bargain of the Spirit World" "The world of Armagnac was well and truly disrupted earlier this year by the arrival of a brand called Hogsworth that blends bourbon whiskey with brandy from Gascony," writes Henry Jeffreys in The Guardian. But beyond the disruption, he highlights something much deeper: "The idea behind Hogsworth does point to something interesting going on in the spirits world: mature whisky, be it single malt scotch or bourbon, can be extremely valuable." And what about Armagnac? As Jeffreys observes, "At the moment, Armagnac is the biggest bargain in spirits, so get hold of some before the bourbon bros finally wake up and start snaffling it all up." But Raj Peter Bhakta, founder of BHAKTA Spirits, recognized the immense value of Armagnac long before the rest of the world caught on. By acquiring aged Armagnac and building a brand around its timeless allure, he set the stage for this Gascon treasure to step into the spotlight. Curious to know more about this underappreciated gem and why it’s being called the best deal in the spirits world? Read the full article and discover the story behind Armagnac’s quiet revolution. 🥃 #Armagnac #TheSpiritOfGascony #DiscoverTheBargain #BHAKTASpirits

What is the best bang for your buck in the wonderful world of spirits… Whisky? No Cognac? No Rum? No Armagnac? Yes Taste is personal but comparing like for like in the world of artisanal spirits, Armagnac is extremely undervalued. There are high-quality brands of note like Janneau, Château de Laubade, and Castarède, but much of the 3M bottles produced in the region yearly flies under the radar. Small farms and estates make up much of the production, and with no marketing budgets to support, prices remain very conservative. It is possible to buy bottles of vintage Armagnac for a hundredth of their whisky and Cognac counterparts. A 1924 vintage can be acquired for less than a bottle of Dalmore 21YO, and 200-year-old bottles of Armagnac are less expensive than Remy Martin Louis Xiii. 25YO Casks containing the equivalent of four hundred bottles can easily be located for less than the cost of four bottles of The Macallan 25YO. It is only a matter of time before the world wakes up. Half of the annual production is consumed by the French leaving only 1.5M bottles per year for the rest of the world. China currently accounts for 3-5% of all Armagnac exports, a small shift in demand could really shake things up and pricing is only going one way. If you are looking for anniversary gifts (as pretty much every vintage is available) or want to know more about the opportunities this stealth category has to offer, then please get in touch. MAGA – Make Armagnac Great Again!

The factor of ageing in Fine wine 🍷 When it comes to vintage Champagne, age is the most influential factor on appreciation, certain highly anticipated releases do see immediate price increases. In general, values tend to remain steady for the first few years after release. Significant price growth starts to occur as secondary market availability begins to diminish, typically between five and ten years thereafter. Case study-6 :Taittinger Comtes de Champagne 2008 🍷 Taittinger Comtes de Champagne 2008 vintage released in autumn 2020 to critical acclaim. This resulted in an immediate 30% price jump from £535(R12 305) per 6 bottles to £700(R16 100) , and in 2022 had further increased to £1,150(R26 450)per 6 bottles.

In light of The Economist's recent coverage on the booming Champagne market and the ground breaking Sotheby’s Champagne auction, which saw a record EUR1.35m in sales with an impressive 50% of the lots exceeding the high estimate, it's an opportune moment to re-evaluate Champagne's long-term potential. Our Senior Portfolio Manager Matthew Small examines the current market in detail in our 2024 Champagne Report. Examining the Liv-Ex Champagne 50 index, which monitors the performance of the most recent vintages of the 13 most actively traded Champagnes, presents nuanced picture. Currently trading at a 27% discount to its previous high in October 2022, the index has experienced a correction. Despite this, Champagne remains the highest-performing sub-index in the wine investment universe, with an impressive 40.8% return over 5 years. So, what's next for this effervescent beverage? Champagne & Prosecco, India's sparkling showdown! If Champagne is the king of celebrations, Prosecco is the charming contender shaking things up. Yes, Champagne has that old-world prestige. But Prosecco? It’s the crowd-pleaser redefining what it means to celebrate. As Champagne prices continue their ascent—with an average bottle costing you around ₹9,500 and a projected growth rate of 6% annually from 2024 to 2032—Prosecco presents a more budget-friendly alternative, typically priced between ₹2,500 and ₹2,800 per bottle. In 2023, Italian sparkling wines saw global sales of 936 million bottles, maintaining stability year-over-year but reflecting a robust 24% increase since 2019. While Champagne’s heritage and sophistication are beyond question, Prosecco’s rapid rise is undeniable. With nearly 1 billion bottles sold globally in 2023, Prosecco is clearly stepping into the spotlight. There’s no doubt—a new star has emerged. In essence, Prosecco is carving a substantial niche without dethroning Champagne. At Monika Alcobev, we're proud to offer both, catering to every palate and occasion. After all, why choose when you can have #OnlyTheBest? Cheers 🥂 #Champagne #Prosecco #France #Italy

Samaroli is an Italian independent bottler of whisky and rum, renowned for its exceptional quality and dedication to the art of spirit selection and aging. The company was founded by Silvano Samaroli in 1968. Initially, the focus was on Scotch whisky, and Samaroli quickly gained a reputation for its unique approach to whisky bottling. Unlike many other independent bottlers, Samaroli often chose to age whiskies for extended periods in carefully selected casks, sometimes even re-casking the spirits to enhance their flavor profiles. Samaroli's bottlings are highly sought after by collectors and investors due to their limited releases and the attention to detail in selecting and maturing the spirits. Each bottle is often seen as a work of art, with carefully chosen cask strengths and unique labeling that reflects the company's philosophy. In addition to whisky, Samaroli expanded its portfolio to include rum, applying the same meticulous approach to selecting and aging. The rums are often sourced from the Caribbean, aged either in their country of origin or in Europe, and are known for their complexity and depth. Even after Silvano Samaroli passed away in 2017, the company has continued his legacy, maintaining the same high standards and passion for creating exceptional spirits. Samaroli remains a symbol of craftsmanship and dedication in the world of fine spirits. For us, who seek in exclusivity an opportunity to preserve the value of our capital and to gain, a methodical selection of Samaroli bottles offers our clients the possibility to build a solid portfolio of premium spirits, with the aim of creating a profitable safe-haven asset in the short and midterm, with a two-digit percentage increase. One of the most recognizable products in our portfolio is an iconic brandy #Stock84. ➡️ This famous liquor is a part of our heritage. Its name celebrates the fact that the company was founded in 1884. The history of its name is fascinating and related to the changes in the legislation of the names of alcohols, in this case cognac vs brandy. 📖 Long story short in 1935, '1884 Cognac Fine Champagne' appeared alongside the 'Cognac Stock Medicinal' brand, which in 1955 became the current 'Brandy Stock 84', which is a part of Stock Spirits' contemporary portfolio. The change of name from cognac to brandy resulted from the 1947 agreements, according to which the name cognac was reserved for distillates originating in France 🇫🇷 Then, the Italian-French Convention of 28 May 1948, ratified in Italy on 18 July 1949, stipulates that the term 'cognac' is reserved exclusively for wine distillates produced in the French region of Cognac, while similar products of other origins, whether Italian or French, produced outside the Cognac region are called brandy. The name #BRANDY itself, is derived from the Dutch "brandewijn" and translates to "burnt wine" ✅ Voila, that's the whole history in a nutshell 😃 #StockSpirits #Stock #different #types #flavours

The 2023 Bordeaux En Primeur campaign, a unique vintage of elegance and strategic pricing, has begun with promising initial releases. Notably, Léoville Las Cases and Pontet-Canet have made bold moves, reducing their prices by 40% and 27%, respectively, from last year's vintage, a significant shift that mirrors the pricing of the highly regarded 2019 vintage. This year's vintage, ranging from good to very good, is marked by elegance, precision, and freshness. With substantial production levels, pricing has emerged as a key strategic element. The shift from exclusivity-driven to value-oriented acquisitions is a significant development, reflecting not only the current economic landscape but also drawing on successful strategies from past vintages in similar market conditions. As we anticipate the rollout of the 2023 vintages' prices during this campaign, we invite wine enthusiasts and investors to register their interest and gain priority access to these exceptional offerings. This is an opportunity to engage with a vintage where quality meets remarkable value. 🍾 Register your interest and discover more here: https://hubs.li/Q02vykVk0 #BDXEP2023 #Bordeaux #EnPrimeur Cult Wines
