I had a mock discovery call interview last week Here’s how I prepped for it 👇 1️⃣ Product knowledge - You’re not expected to be a product expert but having a good understanding of the product helped me navigate the interview. Companies usually portions of their website dedicated to this. 2️⃣ Understand their buyers persona - Who’s their ICP? What problems do they solve for ? Knowing the answers will help you steer the interview. I’ve found G2 reviews and the customer stories as a good place to gather more information on this. 3️⃣ Roleplay - Practice, Practice and Practice. Without practice, the preceding steps are totally irrelevant. Write a script to have a general sense of how the conversation is going to flow. The goal of the interview was not perfection. Interviewers are usually looking for coachability so be keen on the feedback they give throughout the call. There’s tons of resources out there that helped me prepare but this article from Kyle was by far the most valuable; https://lnkd.in/eqVUg2Ed #bdr #sdr #jobseekers

📢 Let's Normalize It: Not Every Question Has an Answer! 🤷♂️In the fast-paced world of interviews, it's easy to feel the pressure to have all the right answers. But here's a reality check: it's okay not to have a response for every single question that comes your way!🚫 Perfectly okay to pause, reflect, or even admit when a question stumps you. 🤔 Embrace the opportunity to showcase your critical thinking skills and willingness to learn. 💼 Interviews are as much about assessing fit as they are about evaluating skills. So, next time you find yourself stumped, take a deep breath, acknowledge it, and use it as a chance to engage in a constructive dialogue. After all, being authentic and adaptable is just as important as acing every question! 💪 #InterviewTips #AuthenticityMatters #KeepItReal 🌟🔍

When asked about weaknesses in an interview, be honest but strategic. Mention a real weakness, but also how you're working to improve it. For example, 'I sometimes struggle with time management, but I've started using a planner to stay organized.' This shows self-awareness and a commitment to growth. 💼💡 Practice mock interviews at Candidace.fyi to refine your answers and boost your confidence. Dive Deeper in Interviews with Probing Questions Looking to get more from your interviews? Probing questions are your best tool. They’re not just follow-ups; they're the keys to unlock the deeper narrative. Here’s a quick guide: 🔎 Start with the surface response, then pause and reflect. This opens up space for a deeper dive. 🔎 Pose a probing question like, "Can you tell me more about that?" or "What led you to this conclusion?" 🔎 Listen attentively. The answer often holds the next probing question within it. 🔎 Keep it open-ended but focused. You want to explore, not wander. 🔎 Look for non-verbal cues. They often signal there’s more beneath the surface. By employing these techniques, you turn simple Q&A into insightful explorations. So next time you're in an interview, remember: the surface is just the start. Dive deeper, ask probing questions, and watch the real story unfold. 🗝️✨ #InterviewSkills #DeepDive #ProbingQuestions

This is where most product aspirants fail in the interviews! The Importance of Clear Communication in Interviews: My Key Takeaway from the Week This week, I had a moment of reflection on a recent interview experience that left a significant impression on me. During the interview, I was asked several questions about Redux state management—a topic I know extremely well, having implemented it in countless projects. Yet, despite my familiarity with the subject, I found myself struggling to clearly articulate my answers. It was surprising to me because I thoroughly understand these concepts and have applied them extensively in my work. But when it came to explaining my knowledge out loud, especially in a high-pressure situation, I stumbled. This experience was a humbling reminder that knowing something well isn't always enough—you also need to be able to communicate it effectively. Since then, I've been focused on improving this skill by practicing how to explain technical concepts in simple, clear terms and refining my thought process. If you find yourself in a similar situation, know that you're not alone. Keep practicing, and remember that it's okay to take a moment to gather your thoughts before responding in an interview. #InterviewTips #TechInterviews #CommunicationSkills #Redux #SoftwareDevelopment #DeveloperLife #ContinuousLearning

But here’s the reality: Every interview is a learning experience. Struggling with interviews doesn’t define your worth. Keep refining your craft—the right fit is waiting for you. ✨ #InterviewPrep #CareerAdvice #JobInterviews #GrowthMindset
