Earth Day 2024. I read an excellent and disheartening report this morning about how the public feels around the world regarding climate change. From the report: "Better communication and education to help individuals know where their actions can have the most impact is an area government could be doing better...37% say easy access to more information would encourage them to take more action....People feel they can make a personal impact against climate change but need greater knowledge about how to make the most effective choices." The image below is from something I read several years ago and is one of the best charts I have seen on how impactful our personal choices can be to climate change. When I viewed it, it was too late for me to have one less child (which has a tremendous impact on climate) but there were several other choices I made - and which I continue to make - to reduce my contribution to climate change. Image Source: Seth Wynes & Kimberly Nicholas, Environmental Research Letters, 2017. Thanks to Kate Lister for bringing the IPSOS report to my attention. Full report in the comments below.

Climate change has been called the most important threat to human health in the 21st century. It is estimated that if the temperature rises and its impact on the other climatic variables continues unchanged, it will kill more than 83 million people (1 percent of the world’s population) in the next 80 years. We studied the Impact of Climate Change in Health in Colombia and Recommendations for Mitigation and Adaptation. Follow this link: https://lnkd.in/eUgH-Ptm
