The Mystery-O-Mat vending machine! Apparently, it’s a thing. This one can be found in the Freiburg, Germany main train station. These sell abandoned and non-delivered packages, returns, etc. in their original postal packaging. The addresses and other key information are blacked out. Have no idea on pricing, or what could be inside any of these packages, but if I see one of these machines in my travels to Germany or elsewhere I will report back. So, what do you think: if I do find one of these, should I drop in a few Euros and see what I get? Relatedly, has anyone else come across one of these? Did you take the plunge? Efforts are always recognised. When I stepped into the business of Packaging. We were struggling with orders. All our orders were very small in quantity and we had no significant client to serve. I decided to pitch a well known brand I got the meeting with the right person after 43 days of following up on email and calls. He asked me “aap sample banao, phir dekhte hain” I made the sample as per his specifications. The sample was rejected. He told me “chalo ek baar dekh lo bana ke” This time our sample was approved, but we didn’t get the order. I got a call from him saying “kal subah tak ye bana ke de sakte ho” I readily agreed. Our plant head told me - “Sir ye bana ke koi fayda nai hain, quantity bht kam hain aur agey order milegaya nai ye patani” I told him - “We will make it, let’s show him that we want to work with his brand and no matter how small the order is let’s give our best and deliver on time” I got the order delivered on time. Since then, he is our biggest client and we have become his major vendor. This journey taught us that every effort, no matter, how small, is recognised and rewarded in the long run. #entrepreneurship #success #packaging
