Introducing Luke Fryer, CEO and Founder at Harri, and this week’s exceptional #IndustryInspiration ! 👏💙
Thus far, Luke has had an incredible career in hospitality, beginning in 1999 when he opened the first Burger King franchise in Australia. Years later, in 2007, Luke moved to New York continuing his career in the restaurant space, when he noticed the same challenge emerging across hospitality – building, hiring, and retaining strong teams.
As a result, Harri was born. “We launched Harri in 2013 as a talent marketplace and a way to connect jobs and candidates. Over time, we realised it wasn’t a marketplace problem, it was a process problem to be solved by a new generation of software built for hospitality. Today, leading hospitality brands have created a seamlessly holistic, interconnected employee experience through the Harri platform.”
Luke shares more about his role, revealing, “My primary focus is to ensure that our products are easy to use and positively impact our clients' businesses and their employees’ lives.
“My job is to craft our long-term strategy while making sure that we’re constantly adapting to the extreme dynamism of the market.”
Speaking passionately about Harri, Luke tells us, “Our brand is trusted by a wide range of industry leaders, including McDonald's, Radisson Hotel Group, Fuller’s, Young's Pubs, Mitchells & Butlers PLC, Hall & Woodhouse Ltd, Firmdale Hotels PLC, Hawksmoor, KFC, Burger King and many more. Their success is our success as they’re what makes the Harri brand.”
The future looks bright for Luke, and the Harri team, as he shares their short and long-term goals, “Our goal at the moment is to create an end-to-end employee experience platform that covers the full lifecycle of the employee – from hello, to grow, to goodbye – while staying compliant with any local or federal regulatory requirements.
“Our long-term goals are to be able to not only improve productivity and efficiency in a meaningful way but to do this on a greater scale than is possible today. We also plan to harvest the massive amount of data we have in our platform to help our customers better understand the health of their business today, and optimise it for the future.
“While we want to continue to be focused on the frontline worker, we also see an opportunity to expand into retail and healthcare which are hospitality adjacent.”
To finish, Luke offers some words of encouragement to fellow hospitality professionals, “The balance has shifted in the restaurant and hospitality industry. Savvy employers understand how important it is to provide their workers with the same level of experience as they do their guests.
“Recognise that your employees' experience is inextricably linked to your customer’s experience - put as much effort into one as you do the other.”
Huge congratulations to Luke for all his successes so far! 🥂
