Businesses are struggling to keep up with the risks posed by major global trends, with nearly three-quarters of decision-makers saying their companies are not moving fast enough to address challenges around trade, technology, weather, and workforce issues. The majority of executives view these #megatrends as critical to their organisations, but say it is increasingly difficult to make the right decisions to address the associated risks and opportunities. #Workforcechallenges are a major concern, with rising costs, the need to #reskill and #upskill employees for new technologies, and difficulties planning for #futuretalent requirements as companies utilise more contingent and flexible work arrangements. #BusinessRisks #GlobalMegatrends #WorkforceRisks #EmployeeExperience #SkillsGap #ReskillUpskill #GreenTechnology #ClimateChangeCulture #FutureTalent #ContingentWorkforce https://lnkd.in/dJcu-Ueb

Two weeks ago I had the amazing opportunity to travel to Chicago for the first time and attend the #SHRM24 Conference. I learned so many helpful tricks and tips and I wanted to share with you all a few of my biggest takeaways: 🧠 To get employee’s truly motivated, it must occur within their minds and hearts (AKA intrinsically). To achieve this intrinsic motivation we need autonomy, complexity, and feedback in the workplace. ⏳ 67% of employees complain that spending too much time in meetings hinders productivity. How do we mitigate this? You can try implementing time boxes, meeting quotas, and reverse meetings. 🙅♀️ Women in the workforce 8x more likely than men to have their employment affected by caregiving responsibilities. What can employers do to support women in the workplace? 1. Minimize beginning and end of day commitments 2. Offer flexible work arrangements 3. Offer wellness and disease management programs If you went to #SHRM24, I am curious to know what was something you learned? If you’re willing, please share in the comments or private message me so we can lean into having more civil conversations 😁
