⏰ It's Time to #TurnThePageOnClimate 🌿 Throughout history, women have led and responded with courage and vision, from the forefront of every crisis. Today, we drive the transformation towards a cleaner future. That's why, joined by 83 brilliant leaders from women’s networks across the world, #SHEChangesClimate is calling on the U.S. and global leaders to turn the page and move forward on climate change in the lead-up to COP29 Azerbaijan. Published as a full page in the The New York Times on Sunday 29th September, the letter encourages sustained U.S. leadership and action on climate finance in a time when many other news topics continually eclipse climate action. We have seen hope re-emerge at the UN this week, as global leaders reaffirmed their commitment to act on the climate crisis, transition away from polluting fossil fuels, and back an overhaul of the international financial architecture. While the U.S. has made significant progress in advancing clean energy investments and moving forward with its climate agenda, we recognize that much more is needed to slash emissions and rebuild global trust in a year of unprecedented weather extremes. The U.S. has an opportunity to lead decisively in upcoming climate negotiations, and today we’re here to say: we stand ready to back you as you act on climate change.
