📚 Resource Roundup: Participant/Customer Panels 👥 According to the 2024 State of User Research Report (see below), only 10% of #UX professionals surveyed report using an internal database when they need to recruit their own customers for research or feedback. That seems low, especially for a community known for creative solutions to ongoing bottlenecks or pain points. (I mean think of all the DIY templates!) Composing emails, contacting Success or Customer teams for names, and all that follow up and scheduling seems like it would force folks to find solutions. So I wanted to share some resources to get started thinking about building panels. #ReOps folks love panels. They're perfect not just for research, but things like insights communities and customer advisory boards. When it's easier to connect with users and customers, more learning happens and—as any UXR knows—decisions get better. The product improves. If you have time blocked for learning and are curious what it takes to build one of these panels (which saves time, helps scale insights, and offers control), check out the following articles. Hopefully they'll increase that 10%! Day 10 of the UX Thrive challenge. Today, I tackled the design of an Analytics Admin Dashboard that provides key insights into user metrics, activity overview, in-depth analysis, and total revenue stats. My goal was to create a clear, intuitive layout that gives admins actionable data at a glance while offering detailed drill-down options for deeper insights. This challenge pushed me to think about how data can be presented in a way that’s both informative and user-friendly. What do you think about this design? And i would love to get some feedbacks to improve more in this journey. #UXDesign #UIDesign #AnalyticsDashboard #UserExperience #DesignChallenge #ProductDesign

Believe me - I love surveys. They are fast, relatively cheap method in UXR but you just cannot conduct a survey anytime and however you want (Heyy PMs!). You will likely get your data made on lies if you: 1. Ask users to predict stuff - "how likely are you to use..." 2. Ask users what they want 3. Provide no context of the product/feature being tested 4. Ask no follow-up questions ❌ Situations where you should avoid surveys: 1. Evaluating Design Preferences - this or that? Choosing between design options like layout or color? Rather than asking users directly, conduct a structured A/B test to observe which option truly performs better in practice. 2. Utility Insights - e.g., frequency of feature usage Asking users about a product’s utility through surveys won’t yield the deep insights you need. Instead, you can use a more objective approach like log data (Tools like Pendo are great!). These reveal more about "how often" they use Feature X, which features no one touches, etc. 3. Getting Behavioral Insights - e.g., what paths do users take within product to get the job done? While users may describe their workflow, their descriptions often differ from their actual behavior in real-world scenarios. Observational data provides a more accurate picture of their actions, which can be captured effectively in a usability testing setup. 4. Evaluating Success of Product/Feature/Processes Using surveys to gauge if users can complete tasks on an interaction-rich feature/product often backfires. People may respond based on preferences, not actual experience. For instance, fans of interaction-heavy designs might say it’s easy to navigate, while those who prefer minimalism might hate it and struggle. Instead, run a usability test to see how users actually perform tasks. #UserExperience #UXResearch #ProductDesign #Surveys #Quant

🚀 30 Days of Design Impact: Day 2 🚀 Designing with Data: How Analytics Drive Better UX Numbers don’t lie, and in design, they can be your best friend. Today, I want to highlight the importance of data-driven design. Why It Matters: Understanding user behavior through analytics allows us to make informed design decisions. It’s not just about what looks good—it’s about what works. By analyzing user interactions, we can identify pain points, optimize flows, and ultimately create a better user experience. Real Example: I recently worked with a client who was seeing a high drop-off rate at the checkout stage of their e-commerce site. By diving into the data, we uncovered that a complex form was causing frustration. We simplified the form, and the result? A 30% increase in completed purchases. Takeaway: When design meets data, the results can be transformative. If you’re looking to optimize your product and drive real results, let’s chat about how we can make it happen. 💬 Have you ever made a design change based on analytics? I’d love to hear your story! #30DaysOfDesign #DataDrivenDesign #UXOptimization #UserExperience #DesignImpact

*Transforming User Experience Through Data Analysis* In a recent project aimed at enhancing user experience for a leading online platform, I embarked on a journey fueled by data to unlock the secrets of personalization. With mountains of user interactions, preferences, and feedback at my fingertips, I set out to revolutionize the way users engage with the platform. As I navigated through the labyrinth of data, patterns began to emerge, revealing invaluable insights into user behavior. From the pages they frequented to the features they ignored, every interaction held clues to understanding their unique needs and preferences. One pivotal discovery was the impact of personalized recommendations on user engagement. By analyzing browsing history and purchase patterns, I developed algorithms that tailored product suggestions to each user's interests, resulting in a significant increase in click-through rates and conversion rates. But the journey was not without its challenges. Ethical considerations loomed large as I grappled with the balance between personalization and privacy. Striking the right balance between delivering personalized experiences and respecting user privacy emerged as a central theme in the quest for user-centric design. Let's Discuss: What role do you see data analysis playing in shaping the future of user experience design? How can businesses leverage insights from user data to create more intuitive and engaging experiences? #Personalization #UserExperience #DataDrivenInsights
