🚘With availability of good used cars for dealers becoming increasingly more difficult and expensive to source. I would have thought that Stellantis would want to keep as much quality used car stock in their network and not wholesale to others… Obviously not. #usedcars #stellantis #carfinance #europe

The company raised 122 million euros in funding since its IPO in February 2021. Auto1 Group's profitability was due to the high demand for used cars, leading to an improvement in gross profit and unit margin. However, the company's sales plunged by 9.8% in 2023, with 586,084 used cars resold. The Australian automotive market is already the most competitive in the world. Despite this, more brands continue to enter the Australian market. It is clear when you add each of manufacturer targets that vehicle supply will outweigh demand. We are already seeing discounting by brands on both ICE and EV to clear overstocking.

Really interesting news - this will be a big change for Irish car buyers and dealerships. I think there will always be people who want to have a face-to-face interaction with the salesperson. You can't fully replace the human element to selling cars. But, for a lot of people, it would be much easier to do everything online and reduce the amount of time needed to pick up their new car. This mirrors some of the points I made in my presentation last week at the MSPA Europe/Africa conference... processes are changing and #mysteryshopping will continue to change along with it! PAN Research
Volkswagen Group is to sell its new cars directly online to Irish customers from June 2026 in a move that will see its retailers become responsible for new car handovers rather than the sales process.

[NEWS] Stellantis is slashing prices of popular Jeep models: Right now, the automaker is targeting the Gladiator, Cherokee and Wagoneer, with price cuts ranging from $3,000 to $8,330. The reason? Jeep sales have plummeted and inventory is sky-high. In early Oct., the average days’ supply was 81 days — for Jeep, it was 126. And with CEO Carlos Tavares aiming to bring dealer inventory down meaningfully by the end of 2024… Stellantis is making big moves to boost demand fast and dealer clear lots.
