There's been a big debate in the CDP community about why Salesforce got such a strong ranking from Gartner in the CDP Magic Quadrant. Here's some comments from Mark Benioff in today's earning call that might provide the context: "Our Data Cloud is like a rocket ship. The entire AI revolution is built on this foundation of data and it's why we're so excited about this incredible Data cloud. It's now deeply integrated into all of our apps, into our entire platform. It's self-service for all of our customers to turn on. It is our fastest-growing product ever. It's our total focus for fiscal year '25 with Salesforce Data Cloud" "... in Q4 25% of our deals already over $1 million have included Data Cloud. And we've recently added over 1,000 new customers to Data Cloud. We've never seen traction like this of a new product because you can just easily turn on the Data Cloud and it adds huge value to Sales Cloud, it adds huge value to Service Cloud, to Marketing Cloud, to the CDP." Gartner likely had some insight into the accelerating growth of data cloud as it was putting its report together. It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything. Not usually one to be active in social media, but attending #googlenext24 this year in Vegas has been quite the experience and deserves a bit of exposure. I’ll kickoff a series of posts with some of my early findings. I’d like to focus on non Gen-AI topics, as I’m sure everyone will be bombarded by this topic throughout the week. BigQuery clean room is my first callout and it’s now GA! While this is a bit low key, as not all clients are thinking about sharing and monetizing their data with other companies (although they probably should!), this is definitely a very good step in the right direction. It was awesome to see a real customer use case in L'Oréal and Carrefour utilising this feature to bring true business value! As pointed out by Antoine Castex and guillaume blaquiere the end goal would be a clean room like API or portal to allow sharing independent of the cloud adoption and while we are not there yet, this now feels like a tangible future state (one can hope at least).
