The Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has introduced updated guidelines for processing Digital Signature Certificates (DSC) and E-Sign requests, aimed at enhancing security, compliance, and accountability. Key Points: 1. Secure Authentication: Both DSC and E-Sign are now crucial for employers when authenticating establishment-related documents and statutory returns. The EPFO emphasizes that any misuse can lead to legal consequences, making compliance a priority. 2. Submission Process: 🔹 Employers must submit an online request through the Unified Portal, along with three specimen signatures of the authorized signatory, countersigned by the employer. 🔹 An updated Form 5A with ownership details and valid ID (such as Aadhaar or UAN card) is also required. Processing Time: The EPFO mandates that all requests be processed within 15 working days. Employers and their representatives are jointly responsible for any misuse of the DSC or E-Sign. Compliance and Security: These measures ensure that the authentication of documents is both streamlined and secure, protecting the interests of all stakeholders.
