The past week was a special one for me... I attended my first conference, the SAPinsider EMEA 2024 in Copenhagen and what shall I say, it was mindblowing! Here are my personal highlights: - My generation (as any other before) has several complex problems to solve, but the biggest one might be the path to a climate-neutral, renewable and sustainable society and economy. Therefore I was stunned by Thomas Popp-Madsen presenting SAPs upcoming "Green Ledger", which will enable companies to integrate CO2-Equivalent Accounting into their existing Finance Processes. It is not about reinventing the wheel of Debits and Credits, CO2 Equivalents and the costs linked to them by sustainable legislation make one point obvious: They are a currency, and companies which are ahead of the curve will thrive, not only in public recognition, but also financially. - My short but insightful discussion with Andreas Gloege, where I immediately felt that we share a common vision of how the future of testing SAP applications looks like. I was so happy to hear that SAP is working on providing ready-to-use Modules for the testing of standard processes. Tricentis is on the right track to become the Go-To solution: Easy, Reliable and Reusable - Boomi, an incredibly intuitive middleware for Integration Design. Thanks to Diego Alcantara, Klaas Corneillie and Donna Matthews, you were great hosts and speakers. I had a wonderful time on your evening cometogether. I can't wait for our already scheduled call together. - What can I say. Having grown up in Germany, with Telekom always being at fault for me having lags in my favourite video games, I was surprised by the innovative and open-minded approach of the T-Systems representatives and partners I got to know. Setnam Sandhu, Khogs Moodaley, Martyn Jones and Benjamin Houttuin ☁, thank you so much for this very special dinner and evening we spent together. A glorious example how valuable it is, to embrace a conversation with people of different backgrounds, culture and position in life and career. I really hope we can repeat that in the future. - It was such a nice surprise to meet Harald Hildebrand from Siemens Healthineers, the company where I have spent the first three and a half years of my professional life, while doing my BSc in Mechatronic Engineering in Erlangen. Back then, I was confused why so many desktops I handled day-to-day had this strange application installed, "SAP Logon". Now I know better, and I wish my old company the best of luck on their path forward. "We say what we do, we do what we say" - Also a special thanks to Petra Keller and Christian Bieber. I had valuable, but also very fun discussions with you every single day of the conference. Especially the confidence, with which you were able to convince me of the great value of your tool, was astonishing. See you at the next one! Thanks to Qiado GmbH, and also my squad ,Jerome Houboi, Lara Duarte and Telmo Gonçalves for making this possible.
