I just got cold called by AI…. And I can’t understand why any sales leader or founder would think it’s a good idea to use AI for this. It is painfully obvious it falls into Robo-call territory for one, but the problems seem to be much deeper than that. The lies. That’s right, I asked this particular AI if it was a real person. It assured me that it was a real person calling to help with my online submission request for more information. And that’s the second lie. I never put my info into any advertisement on LinkedIn looking for help with client acquisition. The last thing you want to do is lie to your prospective client. Yet AI has no problem doing this. More importantly, some founder or sales leader out there doesn’t have a problem with it either. That’s not the type of company I would ever want to do business with. There is so many ways to leverage AI in your sales process but outreach should never be one of them. As for the company that called me today, your LLM needs some additional training and I think that your leadership needs some as well. #gosell #bizdev #sales #outbound
