A great example of a business student working hard outside of the classroom!
We will spotlight some of Behrend's student researchers, feature their current research topics, and teach you something fun about them. Our next spotlight is Sophia Diplacido. What is your major, and when will you graduate? I am a Psychology and Marketing student. What is your research area? I am currently completing my undergraduate thesis exploring various shareholders' attitudes towards food insecurity in downtown Erie and the possible implementation of a novel food insecurity intervention. To do this, I am conducting qualitative interviews with cafe, restaurant, and business owners to learn more about their current level of involvement with the community. I will then conduct interviews with individuals who are experiencing food insecurity to learn about their opinions on current interventions. Using this information, I will analyze the existing interventions and assess the feasibility of implementing a new intervention. When you were eight years old, what did you want to be when you grew up, and why? When I was 8 years old, I wanted to be a nurse practitioner because my mom was a nurse practitioner. She really liked her job and I knew she was making a difference in people's lives, so I wanted to be like her. I'm looking forward to using my degrees to make a difference in other ways! #behrend #UGresearch
