Regarding PLC++: Are there any planned changes to the UI / UX / IDE and program handling or will the changes only be "under the hood"? Will there be any new features and capabilities - extensions beyond IEC 61131-3 compared to what we have now? Will the separation from Codesys apply only to the compiler (which is widely discussed) or also extend to the IDE?
Hello and welcome to Beckhoff Live + Interactive. We are the chat team and we are ready to answer your questions.
Will the new editor still be embedded in Visual Studio, or are there plans to integrate it with the VS Code Monaco Editor? (Other manufacturers are going in that direction )
Eric, PLC++ is including the IEC 61131 languages. text based and graphgical ones. But does not have to do directly with C++.
Hello Adria, the PLC++ includes also a new Editor. Also including new features, like deeper integration of the TC3 Scope and possibly other things too.
Adrian Jenkner Currently the new PLC++ editors are integrated in Visual Studio. This way you are able to prepare all your components of your system in the same enviroment. I/O configuration, PLC, motion, etc.
