Join us this afternoon at 1 for a thought-provoking exploration of some of the implications of AI. In the past year, new tools relying on artificial intelligence have altered how people are able to create music, images, and more. Relying on such tools raises unprecedented questions. Is using AI to make art a creative act? Does it matter if we cannot tell if a work of art was created by a human or a machine? What impact might these tools have on current artists? Here's my weekly newsletter with commentary on all the latest Generative AI news. It’s been a quieter week this week, but an incredibly significant one. We’ve had Nobel prizes awarded to AI scientists in both Physics and Chemistry and the release of Air Street Capital’s influential State of AI report for 2024. We also had the launch of Meta AI in more countries and the huge flop that was Tesla’s ‘We, Robot’ event that resulted in the company losing over $60bn in value. In ethics news there are some great articles on how we can better track the carbon footprint of AI models as well as news that AI itself could help us reduce the energy usage of AI by 95%. In long reads, we have a blog post from Anthropic’s co-founder Dario Amodei on the future of AI and a great piece from The Wall Street Journal on why Yann LeCun thinks AI is dumber than a cat. My weekly Generative AI newsletters are free for subscribers. If you're not already a subscriber it's super simple to sign up on the website by following the link below. Subscribers get the newsletter delivered straight to their inbox every Sunday evening at 7pm (UK time). #genai #ai #newsletter

Another step forward with AI ! New opportunities. Endless possibilities. ✨ “Imagine using artificial intelligence to compare two seemingly unrelated creations — biological tissue and Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 9.” At first glance, a living system and a musical masterpiece might appear to have no connection. However, a novel AI method developed at MIT, bridges this gap, uncovering shared patterns of complexity and order. “By blending generative AI with graph-based computational tools, this approach reveals entirely new ideas, concepts, and designs that were previously unimaginable. We can accelerate scientific discovery by teaching generative AI to make novel predictions about never-before-seen ideas, concepts, and designs,” #decodingAi®️ #InnovationwithAI #CFiAI https://lnkd.in/edCTUx2z

Have you heard of Carl Gauss? He was born on this day in 1777, a genius who became known as the "Prince of Mathematics" for his work that underpins today's AI technologies. He even has a link to Samsung, giving his name to Samsung's on-device generative AI models. That's the AI transforming our daily tasks, like browsing the internet or writing emails, and I think it's only right to acknowledge the historical genius that made it possible! How has AI influenced your work? #HappyBirthday #CarlGauss #AI #Innovation

We can choose to focus on using AI for personal productivity hacks with very little differentiation at the end of the day. Or we can choose to focus on using AI for something like...this. Of course, I know it is not an either or, but I am sure you understand the point, I am trying to make. I find the idea of using AI to empower and enhance human discovery and understanding of the world around us deeply fascinating. What about you? #ai #research #nature https://lnkd.in/dfTTgh4e

Unlike what most of us think, artificial intelligence history didn’t only start in the 2010s. The trajectory of AI had been started as far as from 1943, when the first mathematical model of a neural network was introduced. AI had also faced challenges twice in 20th century, when we had AI Winter I and II during 1975 - 1995. Fast forward to the present, daily life is seamlessly integrated with AI, from Roomba in 2002 to the assistants that became our daily companions between 2010-2017. Now, as we embrace the era of Generative AI from 2018-2024, tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Bossnet are not just futuristic concepts but everyday utilities. We're living during a very exciting time where change is evolving at an accelerating pace – what's next in this exciting chapter? #Innovation #B2BNetworking #AI #Bossnet #BusinessGrowth #CompetitiveAdvantage #SurveysAndStudies
