Large photographs of one of the AVE Madrid-Valencia trains and a wind farm in Denmark decorate the spacious ninth floor of the European Investment Bank (EIB) headquarters, where its president, Nadia Calviño, has her office. Both projects reflect the most well-known aspect of its activities: large infrastructure projects. But as many citizens are discovering, often in Calviño's weekly videos, the EIB's actions "affect very specific aspects of citizens' daily lives," from urban transportation to housing, innovation, and, in the future, more intensely, defense. "The current geopolitical context requires Europe to mobilize all possible instruments to invest and make the twin green and digital transitions a success, while also strengthening the continent's capacity to ensure peace and security," Nadia Calviño explains in an interview with La Vanguardia in Luxembourg. Check it out to learn more about the latest on the European Tecn Champions Initiative, the first Spanish fund for start-ups (the 'megafondo') and the support to the European Defense industry.
