We all know that branded merchandise has the power to promote a company, spark a conversation, or reinforce brand loyalty. But what happens when branded products do more than just boost visibility? What if they could change the world? Enter merch with a mission - products that align with causes and communities, elevating brand impact from simple marketing to meaningful change. It’s no longer just about slapping a logo on a T-shirt or tote. Now, it’s about using these items as vehicles for social good. From eco-friendly water bottles to socially conscious apparel, companies are finding innovative ways to make their branded merchandise a force for positive change. Take, for example, products that support environmental initiatives. By choosing items made from recycled materials, brands are reducing their carbon footprint while sending a clear message: we care about sustainability. The power of branded merchandise lies in its ability to connect people. A simple item can become a symbol of shared values - whether it’s a bracelet supporting clean water access or a tote bag raising awareness for animal conservation. These items tell a story far beyond the logo. They show that the company behind the brand is actively working to make a difference. It’s not a fleeting trend. More consumers are actively seeking brands that are socially and environmentally responsible, and these products become a powerful tool for building that relationship. The next time you’re considering branded merchandise, think beyond the logo. Think about how that product could be part of a larger story - a story that changes the world, one thoughtful item at a time. 🌍 #Branding #BrandedMerch #BrandedMerchandise

A good reminder of the impact brand changes can have on end consumer behavior. Rebranding goes beyond changing colors and fonts—it’s a strategic move that can significantly impact your buisness. Done right, it enhances brand recognition, aligns with market trends and sets you apart from competitors. Done wrong, it can hurt your bottom line.

Tropicana, one of the most trusted juice brands, sells millions of cartons of orange juice every year. However, a few years ago, their rebranding exercise led to a catastrophic 20% drop in sales. They wanted to make the brand appear more "down to earth" by simplifying the logo and packaging. Unfortunately, this drastic change alienated customers, who didn't recognize the new packaging and passed by without purchasing. The rebrand was too different from the original design, causing a disconnect with loyal customers. In response to the significant sales decline, Tropicana quickly abandoned the new look and returned to their original design. My take: - brand recognition and customer familiarity are extremely important - drastic changes to well-known brand elements can confuse and alienate loyal customers - when rebranding, it’s crucial to keep recognizable aspects of the brand to maintain continuity and trust. Have you seen other rebrands that didn’t go as planned? Share your thoughts in the comments.

Totally agree! This case shows how important it is to keep your brand familiar to customers. As a designer, l've seen other brands face similar problems. Never forget the Gap's 2010 logo change was poorly received, forcing them to revert to the original within a week. Instagram's 2016 new logo got mixed reactions at first, but it worked out because they kept the app's features the same. These examples show that small, careful changes work better than big ones. Have you seen any other rebrands that sparked strong reactions?

I’ve been noticing a trend in brand renovations, over the past year or two. Here’s a great example of it, Toms of Maine. This is one of the most “crunchy” brands out there, and for it to make this move is quite the bell weather. The trend Im seeing is brands walking away from the starkness of white and that “better for you” look that we’ve come to know. Brands are now embracing color, embracing flavor, embracing fragrance and the like. I see this as the demonstration of a natural progression up the consumer adoption curve. as brands appeal to more and more mainstream consumers, and they need to for growth, the brand identity, and look needs to reflect more of those mainstream purchase drivers.
