In digital health, conferences need to be an important part of your go-to-market strategy. Not because of what it’ll do for you this year, but because of what it’ll do for you when you still exist in 4 years. I once worked for a digital health company who rarely attended conferences. As a virtual care company, we didn’t attend ATA, we didn’t ever attend HLTH or VIVE, no booths at HIMSS, never attended Beckers. Then, in 2022, I attended HIMSS while I was working for Panda Health. I walked up to a senior sales leader of Amwell and asked if they knew who the company was. The virtual care company I used to be at would have considered Amwell a legitimate competitor. Yet, they had no clue who the company was. It’s hard to build a brand in digital health. Attending conferences shows the industry you’re a member of the community. You’re putting in the effort to be in the conversation. When your competitors customers leave a meeting at their booth, they walk down the hall and see your booth. The next year they stop by to learn more about what you do. The following year they’re attending the conference as your customer. Showing up and being in the conversation year after year shows you’re someone to know. Because if you don't - your competitors are a step ahead. #DigitalHealth #Partnerships #Conferences

The crowd's favorite session year after year at the Swaay Health conference: The Healthcare Customer Panel. Christopher Kunney, eFACHDM, CPHIMS, MSMOT, Michael Koriwchak, MD, Patricia Kelly Marsh, MD, and Mike Mosquito, CHCIO, MBA, PMP, CDH-E weighed in on what catches their attention and what to avoid in healthcare marketing. Some key takeaways: ▶ Cold calls don't work. You think you're the only health IT vendor trying to contact healthcare decision makers? Why would your cold call stand out? Emails get stuck in hospitals' strict spam filters, not to mention healthcare execs are drowning in emails already. ▶ What to do instead? Follow them on social media. Get to know who they are and what they're interested in, then build a relationship in person at an event that they're speaking at or attending. ▶ Your website matters but your product matters more. "Marketing is great until someone dies." 🖐️🎤 "You can say whatever you want on your website but when you hook your systems up, you need to know that they're going to work." ▶ Best in breed (or best in class / klas) doesn't necessarily matter. "I need the best solution for my unique needs, not the $10 million best in breed solution." ▶ What's their relationship to advertisements? Do they click? "I'm in IT honey, I don't click on anything. We teach people not to click on things." 🖐️🎤 "If it's an email or social ad, no chance. If it's a trusted healthcare media publication ad, I might possibly see it." Become sponsors of credible, trustworthy healthcare associations to push content through them. ▶ Favorite swag? Socks and portable phone chargers. ▶ Local / regional association conferences are the best place to interact with decision makers. And there you have it! Thank you SO much to the panelists for your candid opinions and insights! Great job moderating John Lynn! #swaayhealth #healthcaremarketing

Should the number and sentiment of summaries/recaps of an event be a measure of success? For the past several months (maybe a year?) the team of John Lynn, Brittany Quemby, David Lynn, Bonnie Shupe Spencer, Hailey Froisland, and many others have been preparing for the Swaay.Health Live 2024 event that was held in Atlanta, GA last week. As any event organizer will tell you, it is difficult to know how things are going when you are running around making sure the event goes smoothly. All we see are the things that didn't go quite right. So, we have to rely on the feedback from attendees to know whether we hit the mark or not. Thankfully, there have been many summaries and recaps posted by Swaay.Health Live 2024 attendees and the overall sentiment is positive. Yay! We have gathered up all the summaries into a series of articles that will be published on Swaay.Health over the next few days. Here is the link to the first one: https://lnkd.in/gyFD2aaT This first article features recaps from Ben Cash, Erica Olenski ✨, Amanda Lomas, Cardinal Digital Marketing, Wynn Hansen, and Evie Leal. I am so grateful to the Swaay.Health Community. They are the reason the event was so successful. Their willingness to share their knowledge and welcome new attendees is a big part of what makes the event special. Enjoy the recaps! #hcmktg #healthcaremarketing #healthcare #digitalhealth #patientexperience

Enhancing Internal Messaging for Your Healthcare Practice To truly set your healthcare practice apart from others, it's essential to have clear, impactful internal messaging. Here are three key questions to ask your team to determine if and how you should approach this critical task: What is Our Purpose and Essence? Does everyone on our team understand and communicate our practice’s mission and core values consistently? How Do We Differentiate? Can our team clearly articulate what sets our practice apart from competitors in terms of services, patient care, and purpose or values? Are We Aligned? Is there alignment among our team members in how we present our practice’s brand and message to patients and the community? By addressing these questions, you can identify gaps and opportunities in your current messaging strategy, ensuring that your team is unified and your practice stands out. Need help refining your internal messaging? Let's connect and I can send you a 25 question brand assessment. #Healthcare #BrandStrategy #InternalMessaging #TeamAlignment 4o

Join us in Las Vegas, NV, at DecisionHealth - Medical Practice Resources' Private Duty National Conference & Expo, Nov. 18 – 20, where Cory Mertz, Managing Partner, will be speaking on the: "Plan Your Ideal Exit: Make Your Agency Stronger Before a Sale" panel, 20th of November. For many home care agency owners, selling their company is often the largest financial decision of their lives. With smart planning, agency owners can have a significant impact on the success of their sale and exit from the company. In this session, we focus on two key elements of exit planning: timing and value. You’ll leave knowing how to identify your ideal time to sell, along with a framework for calculating and ultimately maximizing your agency’s positioning, including six key ways to build value. For example, discover how to build a management structure ready for the handoff post-sale.
