We applaud the National Literacy Trust and Jonathan Douglas CBE, Hon FRSL, for launching the visionary “Changing Stories Together” initiative this week. This big and bold three-year strategy (2024-2027) brings hope, addressing the evolving literacy challenges of our time. With a focus on technology’s role and the stark realities of child poverty, the Trust is ready to uplift communities and make reading and writing a key part of our country’s growth.
The initiative unfolds across three pivotal pillars:
Literacy to Grow: Ensuring every child enters school equipped with the foundational language and communication skills.
Literacy to Learn: Guiding every young individual to leave school with the literacy tools necessary for life’s journey.
Literacy to Thrive: Offering those exiting the criminal justice system a chance at a brighter future through improved literacy.

With over 900 tales in various formats, we try to bridge the gaps technology has created and helping new generations embrace it one story at a time.
