Mindful ways to celebrate Black History Month: ❌ Don't just repost memes ❌ Don't just post quotes ❌ Don't dig up painful memories ✅ Learn about black culture ✅ Support black-owned businesses ✅ Have uncomfortable conversations Black History Month is more than speeches and parades. It's a time to acknowledge the impact black culture has had on our world and our personal lives. It's an opportunity to reflect, learn and grow. Take the time to read from black authors, watch documentaries about black actors, and listen to music from black musicians. And don't stop there. Use this month to support black entrepreneurs by buying from black-owned businesses. Lastly, have conversations that might be uncomfortable. That's how we learn about different perspectives and experiences. We can all celebrate Black History Month with mindfulness.

As we come to the last day of February, our Black voices on the Block continue to truth and life into our organization + the communities we love. Meet someone who understands the human being vs. just the human doing, Devon Fanfair. Hear what Black History means to Devon and more below! "Black History means everything to me! It means Global History. It means the history of which the world was built and evolved. It means innovation and creativity in its purest form. It also means black futurism. When we look back on all we have done to help us remove the imposter syndrome, we should leverage that to create what we have yet to see and experience." "This is SO MUCH MORE than a group of brilliant black founders winning in this tech game! When Tradeblock/we win our “championship”, there will hopefully be photos of the entire team in both digital and physical print. The goal behind the goal is to have kids and adults see themselves in a way they hadn’t before. Sometimes all we need is to see someone that looks like us on a stage we haven’t been to realize that for ourselves. Tradeblock is black futurism." 🚀

It may be foreign to some people that Black people have access to joy. It is not limited to music, dancing, or sports. Black people can experience joy in various aspects of life, such as in relationships, accomplishments, personal growth, and everyday moments. Black people can co-exist with joy with the ongoing struggles against racism. Black joy is not fleeting and superficial. Black people can express genuine happiness and contentment. Black people can find joy despite adversity. Black joy is not a monolithic experience. Black joy can be expressed in a multitude of ways. Black joy is not a recent phenomenon. It is not a new concept for Black people to access joy. Despite the challenges and adversities throughout Black history, expressing joy is nothing new.

Led by Torin Darling Brazzle, CEO/Founder of IGNITE! Central : The purpose of the "Winning with Purpose" Series is to reclaim and redefine the Black narrative, challenging harmful stereotypes perpetuated by entertainment, social media, and other forms of media. Currently, many inner-city youth and communities believe that pathways to wealth are limited to entertainment, athletics, or illicit activities, with violence being glorified and a lack of values, respect, and education. "Winning with Purpose" will counter these damaging perceptions by showcasing amazing Black Leaders who personify TRUE Black Excellence.
