Very good points, Dr. Davis! These Four Truths that you've laid out are not only essential for effective leadership, but vital in keeping strong teams together. They are the glue to effective, working relationships. If you falter in any one of those Truths, strong team members will take notice. If action is not taken or delayed, then strong teams will start to unravel and disperse to "greener pastures." Nothing more heartbreaking than to watch key players walk out and/or to leave a location you loved that you felt lost its virtue... its truths.

You are right on here Dr. Davis! While being “liked” might make leadership easier at times, effective leadership is more about being respected and trusted. When leaders prioritize authenticity, fairness, and a clear vision, they may not always win popularity contests—but they build credibility and long-term success of the organization. People follow leaders who inspire confidence, show empathy, and make tough decisions with integrity. Being liked is a bonus, but being trusted is essential.
