Barnum.AI Industries’ Post

In May 2023, NYT tech columnist Kevin Roose wrote about discovering a peculiar laptop sticker: a multi-eyed, tentacled creature with a yellow smiley face attached to one tendril. 'That's the Shoggoth,' an AI executive told him. 'It's the most important meme in AI.' The image represents advanced AI systems - friendly interfaces masking unknowable complexities beneath. This visual metaphor inspired us to explore AI's mysterious nature through music. The result - _American Shoggothic_ - an AI-generated pop song that transforms existential anxiety into something you can dance to. Many label AI art as theft, citing its training on existing works. This requires nuanced discussion. Every artist processes influences into something new. The fundamental act of artistic synthesis remains unchanged; only the scale and speed differ. We're all pattern-matching machines, organic or digital, trying to make sense of the world through creative expression. However, we recognize that AI companies must fairly compensate artists whose works contribute to AI training - supporting rather than supplanting human creativity. #AI #AIart #AIentertainment #AIapocalypse #AImusic
