Are you a student or graduate who has been LOVING the #graduation photos in your feed? Maybe you’re a new graduate who has shared some of your own. (Love that for you) It’s prompted me to think about how much there is to celebrate as one chapter chooses and another begins. So much to celebrate. Please take the time to do so! It’s also reminded me of what I know through lived experience and more recently through students I support… The journey from education to employment isn’t always the easiest. And as a career coach, I see it as my duty, mission and honour to support you - at any stage in your teens and twenties to make this transition easier. (And yes, much like saving - which ahem - I did not start early in my life - often the earlier you start working towards that education to employment transition… the better). So - for the teens and twenty somethings in your world (whether in secondary school or university or recent graduates) - I have 2 offers. Yup 2. And they are redeemable now. One is free. One is paid. And both have the potential to yield awesome results if you get involved. 1. For £15 (approx $20) - Students / graduates can join a SORT OUT YOUR SUMMER workshop taking place on Thursday 25 July. (There is a 2 for 1 offer on a small number of tickets if booked before Monday 22 July). This is a learning and DOING experience and participants will take action - guided by me - in relation to communication with potential employers, LinkedIn profiles, organising the weeks ahead and more. 2. For free - students / new grads can join the Your Career And Future community - the place to be to access fun, impactful, useful careers content and opportunities. Naturally, the free version here is the easiest to take action on as you just sign up to receive fab careers content (so go go go!) However don’t stop there. Whether or not you have an internship this summer - don’t you want to take advantage of this season to increase your employability potential? Want to stand out in future applications? You can, through the learnings and doings of this workshop. Invest in yourself. You’re worth it. Links for both are in the comments. (And if you are from an educational institution and would like to fund the opportunity for your students - maybe even having a bespoke session - drop me a DM) PS - Photo by the epic Eva Slusarek - she has a mini shoot offer on at the moment so if you're in London and want some fab photos of your own, check her out #earlycareers #workshop #careerdevelopment #signupnow

What to do when your college is not good?” It’s OKAY to feel like your college isn't meeting your expectations. There are ways to turn things around and make the most out of your college experience, no matter how challenging it may seem. Here's what you can do when your college is not good: Leave that college: If you find that your college experience consistently falls short of your expectations, one option is to consider leaving and transferring to a different institution. Research other colleges or universities that align better with your academic, social, and personal needs. Keep complaining for your whole course: Constantly complaining without taking action can be counterproductive. Rather than keep complaining about the negatives, focus on identifying actionable steps you can take to improve your situation. Accept and start working on yourself: Accepting the reality of your situation can be the first step toward finding solutions and making positive changes. Focus on personal growth and development. Here are some ways to work on yourself: Focus on academics: Dedicate yourself to your studies and strive for academic excellence despite the challenges. Explore extracurricular activities: Get involved in clubs, or organizations that interest you, and can provide opportunities for personal growth, skill development, and social interaction. Seek out mentorship: Connect with professors, advisors, or industry professionals to help navigate challenges and achieve your goals. Develop transferable skills: Develop skills such as communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork to prepare you for success in your future career. Remember, your college experience is ultimately what you make of it. #collegelife #internship #mentorship
