The initial assessment by the panel placed France as a one-goal favorite, which likely reflected not the difference in strength between the two teams, but rather the home-field advantage. However, in the early hours of today, the panel has already adjusted this to an even match. The fact that support for the French team on their home turf in the Olympic tournament has waned raises some concerns. Upon investigation, current data as of 1 PM on August 9th shows that 60% of participants in the betting market are opting for a draw. To reduce payout pressure, the panel had to adjust the data downward. Considering all factors, the prediction is that France is favored to win the match within the regular 90-minute time frame. Europe’s most important football event is not only expected to contribute to the growth of the German economy, but also to the economy of the countries in the Play-Offs phase. Hospitality and retail sales are predicted to reach £386.9 million in the UK during the UEFA Euro 2024 Round of 16. Expectations are indeed high - both in football and revenues of the participating countries. ⚽📈 #TourismLab #thinktourism #HospitalityManagement #Euro2024

Everybody is talking about the England national team in the Euros about how dire their performances have been, but the same attention is not given to France. There is something not quite right with the France national team, the attack lacks fluidity and the team is not as cohesive as it was in previous tournaments. We also need to talk about something else, Kylian Mbappe's enormous ego finally catching up to him. Football has created a monster and this is what happens when you inflate a player's ego to such an insane level. They have been the worst team in the entire tournament when it comes to creating a team that is greater than the sum of its parts and they have been lesser than the sum of its parts. What do you think about the France national team in Euro 2024? What do you think needs to change. Drop a comment below and let's talk about it.

Data for data's sense makes no sense. Did you know there is a football tournament happening at the moment in Europe. Switzerland just became the first qualifiers for the next round beating Italy 2-0. You don't have to be a football expert to know that England haven't been performing to their potential in the qualifying stage - but that can all change tomorrow (fingers crossed). As a non-expert I looked at the data to see if I could understand what makes Switzerland so good and where are England struggling: One Team has a possession average of 48% with a pass accuracy of 85.25% while the other has a possession average of 59.67% and pass accuracy of 90%. Do those measures mean that the team with the higher % are better than the team with the lower % - Well as it turns out not necessarily as the lower stats belong to Switzerland. So why are those stats being measured if they have no influence on the performance of the team? A lesson for us all there I think. Fully prepared now for all the Football experts to tell me what I am missing #ComeonEngland

The UEFA House is on fire ♨ ♨ ♨ 🚒 🚒 🚒 (Part 12) We just saw (Part 11 👉https://lnkd.in/eNqs9KUj) that UEFA hasn't always held the #monopolistic position it currently occupies. To get there, it had to align with FIFA by highlighting common objectives. This great unifying goal was, of course, the #monopolistic #control of the ultra-#lucrative 💰 #football #market. To achieve this, it proclaimed itself the sole #regulator of the #football #market while also exploiting that same #market. It inscribed #rules (No. 49 to 51) in its statutes that stakeholders had to comply with under threat of #sanctions. A strategy that proved particularly effective and which, as we'll see in my upcoming posts, was also the basis for the #complaint that the European SuperLeague Company (#ESL) filed before the #Madrid #court and which ultimately landed before the Cour de justice de l'Union européenne for a #judgment that was delivered on December 23, 2023, and which, as we'll see later, now offers "serious" private companies a gateway into the European #football #market. The ESL was far from being the first attempt to create a #European #football #league. The first real attempt was that of Marcel LECLERC, a French press mogul and president of Olympique de Marseille (OM), in the mid-1960s. He submitted a project to #UEFA regarding the creation of a "Latin European Championship": the Télé-magazine Cup (a newspaper he owned). We'll see how this proposal was certainly an important trigger in bringing #FIFA and #UEFA closer together to secure their #market #monopoly. The 2nd major attempt was that of Silvio BERLUSCONI in 1998, through his Media-Partners holding company and his proposal for a European Football League (#EFL). Before the #ESL, this #breakaway #league attempt was the most developed and the most dangerous for #UEFA, which would be scarred for life. Finally, there was the #ESL proposal in 2021, which shook the European football world and created a significant breach in #UEFA and #FIFA's #monopolistic #system; likely marking its end. We'll see how these 3 projects are similar yet different, and what consequences they had on the world and the #football #market. Other attempts to create more regional projects will also be discussed. I'm eager to tell you all about this. If this topic interests you, I'll tell you everything in my upcoming book 📖 "Towards a new organization of football and sport in Europe" (HLSC Edition) 😁

Paris is the football capital of the world. Why? In the last 5 World Cups: 🇫🇷 60 players from the Paris region (Mbappé, Henry, Pogba, Evra, Maignan, Kimpembé,...) have played. 🇧🇷 In 2nd place: 54 Brazilians from the São Paulo region. ✅ Paris: The talent capital of football Ile-de-France, the Paris region, with over 12 million inhabitants, is the most populous in France. ☑ In football terms: 👉 it's also the largest breeding ground for professional footballers in the world. In 2019: 🔺 159 players from the five major European leagues (England, Spain, Italy, Germany, and France) were from Paris or the surrounding area. ❗ It's 6% of professional players. ✅ Paris FC x Red Bull In a city that produces more football stars than anywhere else in the world, the potential for Paris FC and Red Bull to tap into this local talent is immense. ❓ Could we be witnessing the rise of a new Parisian rivalry — Paris Saint-Germain's global stars vs. Paris FC 's homegrown talents? #footballbusiness #paris #linkedinsports

The whole can either be greater/lesser than the sum of the parts. For the England football team, the whole have always been lesser than the parts when it comes to major tournaments. This could also be seen from the performance of the England football team vs the Denmark in the Euro 2024. As per the market reports, the market valuation of England players is around Euro 1 billion ( the highest in the tournament) as compared to Euro 300 million of their opposition Denmark. The England Team has the likes of Jude Bellingham, Harry Kane, Phil Foden, Bukayo Saka, who are superstars for their respective clubs. But when it comes to the national stage, the whole becomes a problem. This tells a very important management lesson, that a team should not be entirely based on player/personal profile, but it should depend on the position/work profile and on who can fit and perform the best in the role. What England team does or have done in the last 2 decades have been building the team on the basis of players and not based on the position/role.This could be seen when Steven Gerrard, Lampard, Beckham, Scholes were tried to be fitted in the team. Hence, the performance of the England team is not a surprise for those who follow the sport closely. While the Denmark Team did not have players of big personal profile but had players who can do their specific job/role at the end of the day. That's what team management is all about. As a well wisher for the England Team, let's hope Gareth Southgate does some bold changes to take them deep in the tournament. It all stems down to the basics of put your team based on the profile of the role and not based on the profile of the person. #management lesson # learn through sports.#euro2024.
