🌍 Celebrating World Environment Day with a Sustainable Step Forward! 🌞 What better way to honor World Environment Day than by using the earth's natural resources to promote greener practices? At our factory in Palmer, USA, we've recently installed solar panels on the roofs of our 5 buildings, that are expected to generate 846,882 kWh of clean energy per year. This green energy initiative will reduce our CO2 emissions by 312,7 tonnes per year, bringing us closer to our goal of net-zero emissions by 2040. By using solar energy, we are making our operations greener and contributing to a sustainable future for our planet. Owens Corning published this week its 2023 Sustainability report! A real gold mine to understand our roadmaps, actions and achievements contributing to Making the Difference. This publication is always a good time to look back and see all the progress made towards our sustainability goals. As being personally located in Europe, I am especially proud of our 100% renewable electricity sourcing in EU from 2023. Cherry on the cake, we have achieved that goal by privileging Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and Virtual Power Purchase Agreements (VPPAs), hence having a direct contribution in bringing more renewable electricity into the grid. Excellent Sustainability report by Owens Corning. All of their accomplishments were great, but the employee safety was above and beyond. Employee safety: In 2023, the company’s recordable incident rate was 0.60, which is 81% below the industry average, as reported by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. #Safety #EmployeeSafety #Sustainability
