Welcome to our last AWS Canberra Well Architected User Group Meetup for 2024, including more exceptional speakers and topics! :-D As we build the group, we’d appreciate you passing this onto any colleagues, friends or partners that you feel would enjoy attending: https://lnkd.in/gBwhRAVv At each meeting we cover off various pillars in detail, best-practices and insights from industry leaders that specialise in the Well-Architected Framework. And giving away drones, of course. Lots of drones. We're excited to announce our speakers and topics for this month! • Stephen Hogarth, AWS Practice Lead, NCS Australia Well-Architected: Stories from the Front Line Stephen Hogarth will go through each pillar, giving some examples of where things have gone wrong - where people have not adhered to best practice - and perhaps a couple where things have gone right, and will switch into the AWS console to show things that should be done or features that will help. • Mystery Speaker Using AI for Security and Compliance: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly When it comes to security and compliance, AI can be immensely useful and immensely dangerous, seemingly in equal parts. Our mystery speaker will cover off some of the details, including some fun live hallucinations :-) This month's menu will include: • Pizzas • Beer: Nastro Azzuro • Wine: Big and red 🤤 So come join us at 5:30 for a 6pm SHARP start, followed by beer, wine, pizza and networking after our talks :-)

#LatePost 🌟 Attending the AWS Summit 2024 in LA was a transformative experience! 🌟 As a Computer Science student, diving deep into the latest advancements in cloud computing and AI was thrilling. This year's theme, focusing on generative AI, highlighted the groundbreaking potential of creating intelligent applications. AWS's suite of services like SageMaker, Bedrock, and PartyRock opens up endless possibilities for developers. One of the most exciting parts of the summit was participating in the drone-building workshop. This hands-on session allowed me to explore the integration of AI with drone technology, learning how to develop and deploy autonomous drones using AWS services. Additionally, the expo hall was a treasure trove of innovative demos and AWS partner solutions, providing a comprehensive look at the cloud ecosystem. Huge thanks to the AWS team for organizing such a stellar event! The knowledge and connections gained here will be invaluable as I move forward in my career. Can’t wait to implement what I’ve learned and stay engaged with this amazing community. 🚀 #AWSSummit2024 #AWS #CloudComputing #GenerativeAI #DroneTechnology #AmazonBedrock #SageMaker #TechCommunity #MachineLearning #Innovation #TechEvents #FutureOfTech #PromptEngineering

A couple of thoughts after reading this blog from Amazon about the use of AWS across various industries: - AI can be trained to spot defects and optimize techniques or routes to save resources and money while achieving more efficiency and accuracy - If AI detects an anomaly or abnormal metric, key personal get notified instantly to prevent any disaster or damage to equipment - Having real time data that is flowing into the AWS Cloud allows that data to be stored in the cloud as well as using that data to be reused to train the AI algorithm for further improvement - Having drones equipped with AI to process high quality real time images that can be stored in AWS Cloud, allows companies in the Oil and gas as well as Power and utilities industry to monitor lines and equipment in rural or remote areas to prevent any damage or check condition of equipment as well as instant notifications for key personnel if equipment is damaged or obstructed or looks to worn, to be fixed quickly so that the repair price is not to high and the companies can save money to invest in different departments within the company.
