Just Another Point of View I continue to maintain that despite the upbeat sentiment being touted all across, there is more hype than reality when you dig deeper. Let's look at the much touted, fastest growing, ordering 500 planes each, Indian aviation segment ! Jet Airways and GoAir have packed up. Spicejet continues to play hot and cold - it could go cold anytime. Air India and Vistara continue to play musical chairs between their brands, with Air India still to show any positive signs of a service turnaround. Add to these, a couple of newly inducted wannabes. Between Indigo and Air India/Vistara, they control 90% of the aviation market. Bizarre by all standards, with the flyer being held to ransom. Despite development, most of our airports are glorified railway stations and the Indian flyer as obnoxious in the air as on the ground. Air fares have soared hugely and it is cheaper to fly short haul overseas than take a domestic flight. So yes, while we can keep tom-toming about how amazing the Indian Aviation sector is and keep throwing up fantastic data, reality is it is all band-aid held. #aviation #airports #hype

As things are right now, aviation in India is currently in the phase of consolidation and stability, and once it starts gaining more profitability, there shall definitely be more than two significant players, according to Air India's CEO and MD, Campbell Wilson. "Domestic Passenger Market" is the hub that's been cornered by the airlines—Tata-owned Air India, alongside IndiGo; those account for well over 90%. #IndianAviation #AirIndia #IndiGo #AviationIndustry #CampbellWilson #TataGroup #DomesticMarket #AirlineConsolidation #AviationGrowth #IndianAirlines #ceosofbharat

IndiGo (InterGlobe Aviation Ltd) sounds the war bugle in India's long-haul market! Orders 30 Airbus A350. IndiGo's momentous order for 30 A350 + 70 purchase rights aircraft is: - A war bugle for the incumbents in India's long-haul air travel market. - A reflection of its unparalleled competitive position in the Indian market. - A show of self-confidence in its ability to cross the final frontier in the airline business: Long Haul Low Cost. - A testimony to the growth potential of India's air travel market. - Most importantly, an ode to IndiGo's vision of creating a unique integrated LCC airline model (regional, narrow-body, narrow-body long haul, wide-body long haul), which no other sizeable airline has attempted, ever. Congratulations IndiGo (InterGlobe Aviation Ltd) for proving yourself to the tune of latest world’s worst airlines survey. Apparently you don’t feel the need to provide best in class comfort to your passengers. I guess that’s why you removed cushions from seat back then. You have gone a mile ahead by removing reclining feature of seats. Flight 6E 6272 which is an Airbus A 321 model is a prime example of your exemplary downgraded service. All you doing is increasing cost day day making it difficult for people to travel. My prediction is Air India Limited with its deep pocket and zeal to attract customer will soon eat into your market share. Kudos to your cost cutting measure at the behest of customer dissatisfaction.
