#Museums and #Exhibitions are one of the best things I like in #Germany. Of course, the country’s strong #economical position strengthening the well-curated and well-financed exhibitions the country has to offer. Had the privilege to visit the #Autostadt which is considered in terms of area, one of the largest German theme parks. It can be referred to as a mixed-use center where #customers can pick up their new cars that are stored in the beautiful 2 car towers garage (which you can see in the beginning of the video), a communication platform between the VW Group brands and of course an exhibition for all VW Group brands that include #VW, #Audi, #Porsche, #Bentley, #Lamborghini, #SEAT, #Skoda, #Bugatti, #Ducati, and #MAN. Really enjoyed the exhibition and the landscape. And if I can give a trophy to the best exhibition there, I would give it to Audi Pavilion that proudly presents the technology used in the car starting from how Audi lights can offer different experiences by controlling light system to other high-tech features in the car. This specific pavilion, I visited 2 times because the exhibition experiences there were very engaging starting from the music in the background that is futuristic and has a tone of a heartbeat that makes you fall in love with brand automatically to everything else. Unfortunately, or fortunately 😊 I did not document the #experience there as I was busy immersing myself in the well-crafted details in the Pavilion. Last week I had the opportunity to visit The European Networking Group 's 16th Annual #VehicleRemarketing summit at the Meliá Hotels International in Berlin. Having one week to digest a bit, I would like to share my 5 key take aways from the conference: 1️⃣ The current discount battle for #BEVs initiated by Tesla is shaking up the industry and leads to considerable #RV depreciation if #Captives & #VaaS providers do not act smartly 2️⃣ There is a renaissance of #PreSales and #buybacks as #Captives & #VaaS providers aim to minimize the #RV risk exposure in their balance sheets, instead of leveraging #usedcarsales as cash cow (as it has been the case in recent years) 3️⃣ Expanding into 2nd & 3rd #usecycle (e.g. via #UCleasing, #UCsubscrptions) has become reality for many industry players, instead of a strategic vision of some consultancies... 4️⃣ #Crossbordersales are standard and large #remarkting providers/ #eCommerce platforms sell 40-60% of their used cars #PanEuropean to realize arbitrage effects, but also to protect prices in domestic markets. 5️⃣ #ReFurbishment is on a raise as more and more #Captives & #VaaS providers acknowledge that it is a key underlying enabler for multicycle sales models and to increase #vehiclelifetimevalues Christopher Ley, Tobias Detzler & Philipp Enderle what is your opinion about these findings? Our session hosted by Andrew Shields, Jon Bulloch and Morten Holmsten entitled Used Value trends in a fast-moving market ended with four key takeaways: 1. The European used market is tightening and margins are coming under increasing pressure. 2. Cross border used car selling is complex but offers a huge opportunity. 3. More than a third of Europe's used cars offer a cross border opportunity with potential profits of 1,000 Euros per car. 4.
