#Motor_vehicle_advance_tax This is a tax paid in advance before a public service vehicle or commercial vehicle is licensed at the rates applicable. (i) For public service vehicles (PSV), pick-ups, vans, lorries and commercial vehicles: - Higher of KES 2,500 per ton of load capacity per annum or KES 5,000 per annum (ii) For passenger carrying vehicles: For every driver KES 3,600 and for every conductor KES 1,200 per annum (iii) For minibuses, station wagons, buses, coaches and saloon cars: Higher of KES 100 per passenger capacity or KES 5,000 per annum whichever is higher Payment has to be on or before 20th of the first month of the year
