𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 - 𝗡𝗲𝘄𝘀𝗳𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗵 📋 The answer from manufacturers to the European Union's demand to replace all the different anti-theft certifications with one universal certificate!   Independent car, body repair and motorhome companies will need this certificate after 1 April 2024 to be allowed to tinker with and programme all parts related to theft prevention.   In the short term, SERMI requires some extra time and effort from both car companies and employees, but in the long term, the new way of certification brings several benefits. First of all, there are time savings, as separate access per brand is no longer necessary. Moreover, one is no longer dependent on the manufacturer, leading to more independence. Finally, one only needs to apply for one certificate instead of several, which ultimately saves time and money.   But how does one obtain such a certificate? #RoboGaze becomes member of #ASAM and initiates a new field of automotive standardization for safety The Association for Standardization of Automation and Measuring Systems (#ASAM) is a non-profit organization promoting and establishing standardization in automotive development and testing, built on the collaboration of international car manufacturers, suppliers, tool vendors, engineering service providers, and research institutes. Member companies and organizations include General Motors, Ford, Volkswagen, BMW, Mercedes, MAN, Volvo, Renault, Toyota, Honda, Siemens, Bosch, Thyssenkrupp, Sony, Hitachi etc. and dozens of the world’s leading universities of technology. They cooperate in developing ASAM standards in software development, measurement and calibration, diagnostics, test automation, data management and analysis, all applied worldwide, and all based on real use cases. As #roboGaze’s vision is to provide safer roads for everyone, since the beginning we have been striving to create products whose quality and reliability are beyond question by definition the most transparent way: the acquisition of the highest industry standards, e.g. #ASPICE and ISO. However, as Driver Support Systems (or Driver/Cabin Monitoring Systems) are a relatively new field of automotive industry, the standardization of their development is still an open question, in spite of recently enacted (EU) or expected (USA, China) legislation and industry benchmarks (Euro NCAP). #RoboGaze has taken the initiative to launch this mission. ASAM’s contribution is inevitable and its support is invaluable in the entire process from ideation to release, which includes connecting stakeholders, coordinating work groups, and developing, maintaining and promoting these new standards in validation, file formats, data models, protocols, interfaces etc. We are proud to have become a member of this group of excellence, and will use our knowledge and abilities to achieve a new level of safety together in the increasing complexity of mobility technology.
