Honda is doubling its investment to support the ecological transition. The Japanese manufacturer will spend more than €60 billion over the next 10 years, to create a new model family with super-slim batteries and super-compact engines. In a significant shift, Honda revealed on Thursday that it would enhance its spending on electrification and software technologies to 10 trillion yen by the decade's end, a substantial rise from the 5 trillion yen budget set just two years earlier. This move marks a pivotal acceleration in Honda's drive to transition to zero-emission vehicle models. This will reduce the production costs of electric cars by around 35 per cent compared to today. The company will launch seven electric models by the end of the decade, returning to full utilisation of its entire workforce.
