We're consistently hearing that attribution software is often acting more as an attribution mirage. Brands we're talking to are constantly seeing a mismatch between what their marketing analytics software is saying and what their customers actually say when they are asked questions like "How did you hear about us?" "How long have you known about our brand?" "Did you follow us on social media? How long have you followed?" Attribution software still has a place, but it needs to be complemented by first-party data if you want to get the full picture of your customer journeys. Context is everything!
