🌟 Autism in Girls: Understanding the Signs 🌟 Did you know that Autism in girls is often misdiagnosed or overlooked ⁉ Girls aged 3–12 may exhibit unique signs that don’t always fit traditional diagnostic patterns. 🔍 Here are 5 ways autism in girls is often misdiagnosed: Exceptional Masking Abilities – Girls often mimic social behaviors, making their challenges less noticeable. Different Repetitive Patterns – Interests like animals, art, or dolls may mask repetitive tendencies. Misinterpreted Social Withdrawal – Being “quiet” or “introverted” is often misunderstood as a personality trait. Overcompensation by Caregivers – Families may unknowingly help girls navigate situations, masking potential challenges. Biased Diagnostic Criteria – Assessments designed for boys may miss subtler, female-specific signs. 💡 Early intervention is key!
