Innovations in Construction: Case Study of Restoring a Historical Building Modern construction is not just a battle against time and budget, but also an art of project management at the intersection of technology and history. Using the restoration of a culturally significant building as an example, we demonstrate effective methods to combat moisture that threatens the further condition of the structures. We have opted for mobile pellet heating systems from Suter, which can deliver up to 2 megawatts of heat. This solution is ideal for situations that require quick and precise moisture control without the need for permanent installation. Thanks to the automatic temperature control system, the heating process proceeds without additional worries. Learn more about how technologies are transforming the construction industry in our new blog on the website. This might be contrary to popular opinion! We’ve already been through a significant round of review with this clause, and we know for a fact that these issues were addressed last time. While we love selling our energy modelling services (and yes, it’s a superior method compared to the schedule method), here’s the reality: neither of these methods will matter if they aren’t balanced against other critical aspects of building physics—like airtightness, ventilation, and internal moisture management. Many colleagues have already pointed out the diminishing returns of increasing insulation values for floors, walls, and roofs in different climate zones. Why can’t we reflect this in a more balanced schedule method? One that also incorporates a minimum standard for airtightness and ventilation combined, ensuring these are not just theoretically designed but actually commissioned in real life. And while we’re at it, let’s add an acceptable solutions catalog for E3 (internal moisture) to cover the most common construction systems that are in fact subject to moisture issues - because accessible surfaces and water splash alone is not cutting it. A holistic approach like this would move us closer to better-performing buildings without overcomplicating compliance. Have your say! https://lnkd.in/gfrwvAAB
