(USA 01.11.24) #agtech Are agtech stakeholders actually collaborating? FIRA USA 2024 attendees weigh in. At FIRA USA 2024 https://fira-usa.com/, discussions centered on the progress and challenges of collaboration within the agtech industry. While there are promising signs of increasing collaboration across sectors, particularly between startups, government, and farmers, more action is needed. Panelists noted that farmers are eager to work with tech innovators, but often find government programs too bureaucratic to be effective. There were also examples of successful partnerships, like those in the strawberry industry, where growers collaborate with researchers to develop solutions. However, experts emphasized that successful partnerships require sustained effort from all parties, and that companies must be committed to working together to drive the industry forward. Despite progress, the industry still has a long way to go in fully embracing collaboration. https://lnkd.in/gNnG2Jqb

💡 Use every carbon - use every bit of energy from your feedstock A perfect 5 min summary of EveryCarbon’s radical new way to produce highly functional polymer products by our incredible CTO Leonie Rominger . EveryCarbon means don’t be fussy about where your carbon is coming from but once you have it, you are not letting go of it until it is a value-added product. This way we can reduce energy intakes and produce polymers in an unparalleled sustainable way.
"60-day-old fermented sausage salad is indeed a nasty substrate. But it's exactly the kind we want." 👉Yesterday, my co-founder and CTO of EveryCarbon Leonie Rominger , delivered an extraordinary pitch on EveryCarbon's mission of sustainably produced high performance polymers and the technology to achieve this from nasty wet organic waste streams. 🎬 But maybe you should just hear Leonie's words about how this not only recovers every carbon atom from our feedstock, but also reduces energy consumption by up to 50% compared to equivalent processes. We are still stunned by the overwhelmingly positive feedback we got for our technology at the VENTURE SPRIND event organized by SPRIND - Bundesagentur für Sprunginnovationen. And I want to pass this on to everyone involved in this development. It would not be possible without the support we get in Gescher's Lab of Technical Microbiology - TUHH and our partners at the Technische Universität Hamburg, Universität Hamburg, IMDEA Energy and so many more. ...and last but not least, thanks to SPRIND for the financial support! 👏So please give some applause for Leonie and everyone else making EveryCarbon possible. Especially since I cut off the applause during the recording... #becausewearebiologist #makeeverycarboncount #startup #pitch Steffen Voß Simon Müller Sanne Melles Georg Lentzen Johannes Gescher Patrick P. Where next for agri-tech? Food, health, environment and wellbeing are intrinsically linked and the decisions made over the next few years will be crucial in determining both food security, and the survival of the 'family farm'. Our analysis of the companies that have featured in the Agri-TechE REAP Start-up Showcase over the last ten years, provides insight into how the innovation ecosystem has developed. Looking forward, it also suggests that agri-tech is entering a new phase - but will it be farmers, government, big tech, retailers, or civil society that influence its direction? We have enjoyed the journey and asking these big questions of you guys: AgriSound, Agtelligence, Albotherm, Antler Bio, Better Origin, Economad, Fieldwork Robotics, FOLIUM Science, FOTENIX, , Matt Dobbs, Geotree (by Mantle Labs) Muddy Machines PES Technologies, PheroSyn, Plenty Sense Ltd, SugaROx and YAGRO
