The Power of Emotional Connection in Learning ❤️📚 When teaching a child to read, the emotional environment plays a crucial role. 🧠 Children learn best when they feel safe and supported. Start by creating a warm, positive atmosphere where reading is associated with comfort and joy. Whether it’s snuggling up with a book at bedtime or making reading a fun daily ritual, the emotional connection is the foundation for a lifelong love of reading. 🌟 Remember, when a child feels emotionally secure, they are more open to learning new things. #ChildDevelopment #EmotionalIntelligence #Learning #Parenting

🚀 Is your child struggling with reading? Decoding and comprehension are two sides of the same coin when it comes to reading success. If one is missing, reading becomes a frustrating challenge. Are you a parent AND a teacher? I’d love to hear your perspective on the difference you experience in communicating with the children in your life. I coach and educate parents and I coach and train teachers. Sometimes the parents are also teachers and the teachers are also parents. Clients that are both parents and teachers have often told me that they can find their patience easier with children that are not their own. Even in a class with 24 three-year-olds. They say they can tap into useful communication tools and ‘manage’ behaviour easier when they have their teacher hat on in a classroom. Once they become mum or dad it’s so much harder. I’m not a mum myself (just a loving aunty to 4 nephews), so this intrigues me. I have done reading around the subject to better understand my clients and what comes up most is of course the difference in the behaviour of the child but also the emotional connection and the direct responsibility people naturally feel towards their own children, compared with that slight distance and less emotional attachment to students. Can anyone continue to enlighten me on this topic? What do you find easier or more difficult in the communication and relationship with your child compared to with students? And do you do anything in the same way? Feel free to comment below or send me a message. Thank you. 😊 #earlychildhoodlearning #earlyyears #earlychildhoodeducator #parenting

How can I support my child as they learn to read? I get asked this question A LOT! As parents, it’s natural to wonder how we can best support our little ones as they embark on the journey of learning to read. It’s a crucial milestone in their development, and the role you play is key! Here are my top tips to make the process enjoyable, stress-free, and full of growth! 🌟Read together EVERY DAY: Establish a reading routine where you spend time reading with your child every day. Even just 10 minutes a day makes a difference! 🌟Encourage curiosity: Let your child choose books they are interested in. This will help keep reading fun and aligned with their interests. Visit local libraries and independent bookshops when you can 🌟Use everyday opportunities: Point out words, letters, and sounds in everyday environments like street signs, food labels, or menus. Make learning part of their everyday life 🌟Model a love of reading: Let your child see you reading for pleasure. Children often mimic what they see, and if they observe you enjoying books, they are likely to do the same 🌟Start with phonics: Help your child understand that letters make sounds, and sounds blend together to form words. You can play fun games to explore this concept 🌟Praise effort, not just accuracy: Celebrate their attempts at reading and sounding out words. This builds confidence and resilience 🌟Be patient and positive: Every child learns at their own pace. Keep a positive attitude, and show patience as they progress through the stages of learning to read These simple, effective strategies will build confidence and spark a lifelong love of reading💛 Want to dive deeper?
