Ever notice how nurses are natural-born problem solvers? Listen to this clip from Rachel Montero, NP on 🎙️Nursing Beyond the Bedside: frustrated by 10-minute patient visits and limited ability to address root causes, she didn't just accept the status quo - she built an entirely new practice model. Here's what's fascinating about nurses: whether it's crafting creative workarounds during a busy shift or launching innovative healthcare businesses, they're constantly developing solutions to broken systems. Think about it - who better to solve healthcare's biggest challenges than the professionals who navigate its complexities every single day? 🔍 To healthcare entrepreneurs and innovators: Want to build better solutions? Start by consulting with nurses. They're not just end users - they're walking databases of practical insights and untapped possibilities. 👉 To my fellow nurses: That problem-solving superpower you use every shift? It's the same skill that can build businesses, transform care delivery, and create the changes you want to see. 🎧 Hear Rachel's full story of how she transformed her frustration into innovation on this week's episode of 🎙️Nursing Beyond the Bedside. 🔍 When in the OR, think of your communication like Morse code: simple and to the point. Don’t share your weekend stories or social media updates. Your role is to support the team—physicians, nurses, and techs—by being attentive and precise. Physicians often prefer minimal chit-chat and value your input only when it’s requested. Remember, effective communication in the OR means knowing when to listen and when to speak up. Focus on being an asset to the team by aligning with their needs and maintaining professionalism. #GirlsofGrit #Podcast #MedicalDevices #ORCommunication #Professionalism #TeamSupport #EffectiveCommunication #HealthcareProfessionals #SurgicalSupport #OREtiquette #MedicalSales #WomenInMedicine

Do you have an aging parent or loved one living on their own? It can be unpleasant for many of us to think of our loved ones aging, but, if we are fortunate, it's going to happen. If you are noticing that your parent(s)/loved ones are starting to need some assistance (such as medication reminders or help with light cleaning), it's a good time to learn what resources are available. Even better...it's great to know what's available to them BEFORE it's a need. It can be confusing to know what is needed, available, and how the costs are covered. This podcast goes over the different levels of care: Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, Longterm Care, and Hospice. Some communities have all these levels, which can make it easy for someone to stay in the same community while their needs change.
Caregiving Corner released our second podcast today. Jennifer Szakaly, MA, CMC, NMG and Susan W. Ferone, MSW, LCSW explore the different levels of care, from independent living to skilled nursing facilities. Tune in to gain clarity on the spectrum of care options and embark on a journey towards providing the best possible care for your loved ones.
