Today is World Soil Day 🌱 Soil does more than grow food. It stores carbon, filters water, and supports life itself. We’ve mapped global soils on Atlas to make it easier to explore and understand. See soil types, fertility, and risks—all in one place. Because protecting soil means protecting our future 🌍 Check out the map and dig into the data 👇

Up to 70% of soils in Europe are in bad condition. This poses a very urgent problem: healthy soils are the very basis of healthy #ecosystems and key ecosystem services, such as #biodiversity, water buffering and filtering, carbon storage and food production. No #healthysoils = no healthy future. During our latest event, PAN Europe's Executive Director Dr Martin Dermine explains why soil is considered to be the most biodiverse habitat, hosting more than half (59%) of all species. For those who understand the "Problem, Reaction, Solution" of the Hegelian Dialectic programs that are used on mankind. The Problem: EPA approved spreading of toxic biosolids on farmland. The Reaction: Being created by media being given the information that millions of acres have been polluted with biosolids to cause fear in the populace. Their Solution: Having government money at the ready to remove people out of rural land. Our Solution: Remediate the soil in a matter of months and allow farmers to keep their land and switch over to biodynamics and transform the soil and their bountiful crops into what nature intended. The rise in conciousness is happening

UO ecologists secure $2 million to boost soil health of Oregon hazelnut farms https://lnkd.in/gnFihuN5 Researchers are studying the impacts of adding basalt rock dust and planting native wildflowers under hazelnut trees. Weathering rock dust can pull carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, while keeping soil protected with plant cover reduces summertime temperatures and promotes a healthier habitat. https://lnkd.in/g4YU8bVg

🤔💭 What is soil compaction and why does it matter? Soil compaction is the process by which soil particles are densely packed together, reducing pore space. Soil compaction occurs when the tiny particles in the soil are pressed tightly together, reducing the spaces that allow water, air and plant roots to move freely. This can harm plant growth, reduce water absorption and degrade overall soil health, impacting ecosystems and agriculture. Want to learn more about #soilhealth and how to manage it effectively?
