A superb article from Stewardship, highlighting the strong connection between faith and generosity. Although Christian-centric, I suspect that it translates to other religions too. It's about "walking the talk", and being authentic, bringing to the forefront the difference between culture and faith (ie. non-practicing and practicing). In a world scarred by incidents of religious intolerance and conflict, the importance of interfaith dialogue becomes even more pronounced when we recognize the pivotal role of youth. Recent events remind us of the consequences of misunderstanding and division, from attacks on places of worship to acts of violence fueled by religious bigotry. Empowering youth with the tools of empathy, understanding, and respect through interfaith dialogue not only cultivates a culture of peace but also equips them with the skills to navigate complex religious landscapes with compassion and wisdom. By actively engaging youth in interfaith dialogue, we sow the seeds of harmony, unity, and cooperation that will bear fruit for generations to come. Let's stand together to create a world where compassion and unity prevail over ignorance and hatred. #InterfaithDialogue #YouthEmpowerment #UnityInDiversity #PeaceAndHarmony

The Center for Faith, Identity, and Globalization is excited to announce a new publication by our Senior Fellow, Paul Marshall, from Baylor University, Religious Freedom Institute and The Institute for Global Engagement (IGE), 'Myths of Religious Nationalism:Distinguishing it from Religion-Infused Politics' In this piece, Paul offers his perspective on the growing and often dangerous trend of religious nationalism. He explores how the term has become overly politicized in America's polarized climate, losing its true meaning and serving short-term agendas. Paul's analysis seeks to clarify what religious nationalism truly is and distinguish it from the broader and more common phenomenon of religion-influenced politics. Dive into Paul's insightful take on this critical issue and gain a deeper understanding of the complexities surrounding religious nationalism in both the #US and the #world. Today I completed "Religions, Beliefs, and Human Rights" course offered by the United States Institute of Peace! It was a great achievement to boost my understanding of the intersection between religions, beliefs, and human rights. The course provided me with valuable knowledge and insights that I can apply to promote peace, foster dialogue, and advocate for the human rights. "Faith leaders can foster conversation and collaboration with leaders of other faiths by initiating interfaith dialogues, participating in joint community projects, and organizing interfaith events that promote mutual understanding and respect. Peacebuilders can foster collaboration among faith groups by creating safe spaces for dialogue, facilitating interfaith workshops and training, and encouraging the sharing of resources and best practices. Hindrances to successful collaboration can include lack of trust, prejudice, and miscommunication, which can be eliminated or avoided through building personal relationships, promoting open-mindedness, and actively addressing underlying biases and stereotypes." Historically, wars have often been conducted because of religion, but at their core, they are fundamentally driven by the pursuit of power, control, and material resources. Delve into any major conflict, and you'll find economic interests, territorial expansion, and political dominance as the true catalysts. Religion has been used as a tool to mobilise populations and justify actions, but it rarely serves as the root cause. This becomes clear when we consider that all major religions share core values of protecting the vulnerable. No mainstream religious doctrine endorses: • Harming children • Targeting the elderly • Attacking the defenceless • Destroying civilian infrastructure The exploitation of faith to justify violence goes against the fundamental teachings of peace, compassion, and human dignity found in religious traditions worldwide. Recognising that wars stem from human ambition rather than religious doctrine, we can better address their true causes and work toward genuine peace. #PeaceAndJustice #Humanity #GlobalPerspective #Leadership #Understanding
