🚨 Hurricane Helene Disaster Relief Wrap-Up🚨 Over 30+ days in the Southeast, the ASPCA worked tirelessly to provide relief to shelters, pets and families impacted by Hurricane Helene. From operating a temporary shelter in Conover, NC, to reuniting pets with owners and placing 126 animals with loving homes through our incredible partner shelters, we made a huge impact together! After demobilizing our response teams, the final homeless animals from our temporary shelter were transported to our Cruelty Recovery Center (CRC) in Ohio to continue their journey to forever homes. 🏡 ✨ The Impact ✨ 25,000+ animals impacted through food and supply distribution 389,900+ pounds of pet food & litter distributed 660+ calls routed through our animal assistance hotline 150+ animals cared for in our emergency shelter We continue to provide temporary boarding for pets whose families were displaced by the storm and will be coordinating free primary pet care clinics in multiple locations across North Carolina through the end of March 20. We will also continue to provide pet food and cat litter at 11 locations around the Western North Carolina community through the winter months and offer grants to these locations to help fund expenses for the additional support these distribution centers will require. Shoutout to our amazing regional partners who made this possible: Humane Society of Charlotte Yellow Brick Road Dog Rescue SPCA of Wake County Greenville Humane Society Richmond SPCA SAFE Haven for Cats Thank you to everyone who supported this mission. Together, we’re making a real difference 🧡
