Today I participated in Tim Gander’s AIEdCoP meeting. I was profoundly inspired by the stories, experiences, experiments and successes of integration of AI in Education. It is both refreshing and inspiring meeting people committed to work so hard to share expertise and provide leadership to realise the Aotearoa New Zealand blueprint for AI. “The blueprint prioritises six specific sectors for AI investment: agriculture, architecture, engineering and construction (AEC), creative industries, education, environment, and health. These sectors have been identified as critical for New Zealand's long-term economic prosperity and are anticipated to benefit significantly from increased AI adoption”. #ai #aieducation #digitalentanglement #futureschool https://lnkd.in/ge4ExnVE

Are you coming to DRUID SKEMA Business School tomorrow and cannot resist the urge to talk about #AI? Then, we have the PDW perfect for you: Ludovic Dibiaggio, Gautam Ahuja and yours truly organise one on 'Researching the Artificial Intelligence Imperative'. It takes place tomorrow (13/06) from 9-12 at the Conference Venue (Saint Jean d'Angely campus of EUR Economie et Management - ELMI Université Côte d'Azur). Who are the speakers? We opted for a mix of experience and early-career researchers, in both cases working on excellent projects: Hyunjin Kim, Milan Miric Iris Poon Ekaterina Prytkova The aim of the PDW is to gather scholars interested in sharing questions, ideas, and insights about the impact of AI on #organizational and #strategic challenges. “Researching the AI imperative” is a unique opportunity to develop and test theories that link #industrial #dynamics, #ecosystems #evolution, and #firms’ strategy and initiate a discussion about relevant empirical analyses, materials, and data. The PDW is organized in two parts. FIRST, speakers will present four ongoing research projects; the goal of this part is to showcase work on the frontier of strategy and economics of AI. SECOND, we will have a roundtable titled “Which directions for research on the AI imperative?”; its goal is to kickstart an open discussion on the future of research on AI in our fields. Like AI? Join us tomorrow! Look at the cool poster we have! #innovation #research #conference

A fascinating panel discussion showcasing the potential of the CoRE AI, one of many multilateral, bottom-up collaborations between excellent researchers based in Africa and Europe #AfricaEuropeCoRE. It was inspiring for me to co-organise this event on behalf of The Guild of European Research-Intensive Universities with GÉANT, NORDUnet, UbuntuNet Alliance, ASREN and West and Central African Research and Education Network (WACREN) The Africa-Europe CoREs have ambitious research, education and capacity building plans that align with the #AU - #EU Innovation agenda and the #globalgateway. Excellent researchers and research institutions are well aware of the assymetries that can undermine equitable partnerships, in many sectors and disciplines. We have ideas, potential and track records for advancing the state of the art and addressing our shared challenges. We are ready to contribute more through a myriad of approaches, including: - Partnership programmes for infrastructural, economic and societal development led by African Governments and supported by #globalgateway - Excellent research projects supported across the pillars of #horizoneurope - education and mobility activities supported by #erasmusplus Find out more and contact us if you are working with similar aims: https://lnkd.in/deRhzZHh
Very insightful session moderated by Jan Palmowski (The Guild of European Research-Intensive Universities) during the #AfricaConnect3 NEXUS Conference 'Highlighting the Infrastructure for Research and Education Communication' (jointly organised with GÉANT and NORDUnet). Joyce Nakatumba-Nabende (Makerere University), Kajsa Hallberg Adu, Ph.D. (Uppsala University) and Francesco Petruccione (Stellenbosch University) presented the Africa-Europe Cluster of Research Excellence on #ArtificialIntelligence CoRE AI. To tap into the high potential of AI technologies to solve the challenges common to Africa and Europe, research systems across both continents require: 💻 Access to infrastructure and computing facilities to collect, store and analyse data 🎓 Talents with the skills and capacities to develop and responsibly use AI tools 🔢 Support to collaborative research (including researcher mobility) to develop the most appropriate and relevant solutions. Congratulations to Sean Rowlands, Henrique Santos, Janne Rooms and Nicky Wako for organising the event and the panel!
